Sol. C. Johnson Class of ‘67 will meet Saturday,
February 18,2017 at 2:00 pm at W. W. Law Center making
plans for our “50th” Reunion.

of1957
The Alfred E. Beach High School of 1957 will hold its reg
ular class meeting on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Time:
12:00 noon, at the E.O.A Building on Anderson and May
Streets. Plans are being made for the 60th Year Anniversa
ry. Come and bring another classmate. Your input is highly
necessary.
Tompkins Class of’64
Monthly Meeting
The Sophronia M. Tompkins High School Class of ’64 will
meet on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. The
meeting will be held at the Forest City Library, located at
1501 Stiles Avenue, in the Cloverdale/Bel Aire Subdivi
sion. All Class members are encouraged to please attend
and bring another Classmate. Agenda items will include the
Calendar of Events for 2017.

1968 Meeting
The Sol C. Johnson Class of 1968 will hold their month
ly meeting at the home of Willie Oliver, 21 Cove Drive in
Georgetown, on Saturday, February 18, 2017, 3 p.m. until
further notice.Please come to the meeting to help us plan
our 50th Class Reunion. We hope that you will pass the
word around to class mates who may not know about our
meeting. We need your input so that we can have a success
ful and memorable 50th reunion.

Beach-Cuyler and Alfred Ely
Beach High School!
We are seeking representatives from each graduating class
to join our 150 Anniversary Committee. We will kick off
our celebration in April of this year and celebrate through
out the year. Our next committee and alumni meeting will
be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 6:00pm at Alfred
Ely Beach High School. In addition, our executive team
meeting will be held bi-weekly, please contact us for ad

100 Women Raise Money For
Non-Profit Organizations
The 100 Women in Savannah group needs your support to
help raise money for local nonprofit organizations. They
meet four times a year for one hour to learn about organiza
tions that need funding assistance. The cost is SI 00/member
each quarter, which goes straight to the selected charities.

to Hold Information Meeting
Through Online Survey
With the retirement of longstanding Superinten
dent, Dr. Thomas B. Lockamy, Jr., coming at the end of the
2016-17 School Year, the Board of Public Education is con
ducting a superintendent search for the purpose of filling the
district’s top position. Ray and Associates, Inc., an indepen
dent search firm, has been selected to assist the Board in the
search process. The firm was announced during a Special
Called meeting of the Board on January 25, 2017.
A public survey is now available to gain input as
to the top qualities desired in a Superintendent. The Sa-
vannah-Chatham County Public School System now serves
more than 38,000 students and employs close to 5,200 em
ployees. The survey link is provided below and can also be
found on the School District’s website at www.sccpss.com.
The survey will remain open until 8:00am on
Tuesday, February 21, 2017.

Parents of graduating Seniors in the Savan-
nah-Chatham County Public School System are invited to
attend a free Financial Aid Completion Workshop on Thurs
day, February 16, 2017. School district staff will be on site
to assist with the application process for the FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid).
The workshop will be held from 6:00pm to
7:30pm at the Woodville Tompkins Lower Campus located
at 402 Market Street in Savannah. Those who wish to at

And bring the following:
• Create FSA ID at StudentAid.gov/fsaid
• Bring FSA ID to Workshop
• Bring your 2015 Income Tax Return
• Bring Parent and Student Social Security Numbers
• Bring Parent and Student Driver’s License (or valid ID)
The Christian League of Players will hold an in
formational meeting on February 16, 2017 from 12:00 noon
to 1:00 p.m. in the Powell Room of the Con-Ed Human
Resource Center located at 714 M.L.K. JR. Blvd. This is a
Church League and will be focusing on basketball at these
meeting.
The meeting will be open to the public. Howev
er, pastors and/or their appointees, parents, coaches, and all
other interested persons are urged to attend. Also, the neces
sary forms for participation will be distributed. The Chris
tian League of Players (Church League) is not competitive
with teams in the City League but has the full backing and
support of the City of Savannah.
This athletic endeavor has as its ultimate goal to
bring about positive changes in our youth that lead to im
proved academics, Christian morals, and respect for all hu
mankind.
