Savannah Philharmonic
Announces Partnership
For Tenth Anniversary’s
Picnic In The Park
The Savannah
Philharmonic announces a
new presenting sponsor for
Savannah’s largest outdoor
cultural event, Picnic in the
Park. Enmarket is already a
loyal supporter of the Phil
harmonic and this new part
nership will ensure that the
tenth anniversary Picnic in
the Park will be a truly re
markable highlight of the
season.
This year. Savan
nah’s annual tradition in his
toric Forsyth Park is slated
for Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018 and
around 20,000 people are
expected to enjoy this year’s
festivities, which are free
and open to the public.
Brett Giesick,
President of Enmarket, said,
“Enmarket is delighted to
be the presenting sponsor of
Picnic in the Park in 2018.
Our company is deeply
rooted and vested in the Sa
vannah community and we
have supported music, edu
cation and cultural arts for
many years. And for us, the
opportunity to help the Phil
harmonic present with this
community-wide epic event,
aligns with our mission to
give back.”
In 2015, in part
nership with the City of Sa
vannah, Savannah Philhar
monic proudly adopted the
development, production
and fulfillment of Picnic in
the Park in support of their
mission. This dynamic event
gives the organization an op
portunity to inform, instruct
and enrich the community
through orchestral music
and to increase community
awareness and apprecia
tion for the arts. This event
gives area schools students
who participate in their
Orchestra Lab educational
programs the opportunity to
perform on stage, in a live
professional environment,
while family and friends
watch-on. In addition, their
long-standing partnership
with 3rd Infantry Division,
provide performances by
the U.S. Army Band, Color
Guard and Salute Battal
ion. And traditionally, the
Savannah Philharmonic Or
chestra takes center stage
at 7:00pm! No, doubt, the
2018 event, which is free
and open to the public, will
once again provide great ca
maraderie and live music for
all to enjoy.

First‘Small Business Enterprise’ Contract
Awarded To Local Landscapers
The City of Sa
vannah has awarded the first
contracts under its new Sa
vannah Business Enterprise
(SBE) program adopted by
City Hall earlier this year.
Two contracts to
taling SI 15,000 for lot clear
ing and debris removal were
awarded to the lowest bid
ding company, Family Lawn
Care, LLC (FLC). FLC is a
locally owned company
which was started in 2006
by Jesse and DeShay Suares
with one lawnmower and a
car borrowed from Deshay’s
mother. After hearing about
the SBE program, Mr. Su
ares worked with the Office
of Business Opportunity to
get certified as a small, local
business.
The SBE pro
gram takes eligible con
tracts under $100,000 and
pennits only locally owned
businesses to bid. By plac
ing these contracts under
the SBE program, the City
leverages these expenditures
to spur economic growth
by ensuring the dollars stay
within the local economy.
“Supporting local
small businesses is a major
priority for the City. By pur
chasing goods and services
from certified SBEs, we not
only help those companies
grow but also ensure more
City dollars stay in our com
munity, creating jobs and
fostering a vibrant econo
my.” said Director of Busi
ness Opportunity Manny
Dominguez.
The Office of
Business Opportunity is
holding a free certification
workshop at noon on Au
gust 8 at 801 E. Gwinnett St.
Businesses can learn more
about the program by visit

business, calling the Office
of Business Opportunity at
