Girl Scouts Geared Up for
the 2019 Cookie Season
The 2019 Girl
Scout Cookie Program® is
here! Girl Scouts of Histor
ic Georgia (GSHG) is in the
midst of the largest girl-led
entrepreneurship program
that develops the next gen
eration of female leaders.
The program kicked off on
December 17, 2018, with
Girl Scouts taking pre-or
ders. Booth sales begin on
February 8.
The Girl Scout
Cookie Program® is the
largest financial investment
in girls annually in the Unit
ed States and a powerful
entrepreneurship incubator
for the leaders of tomor
row. Through the program,
girls learn five crucial skills
- goal setting, decision mak
ing, money management,
people skills, and business
ethics-while doing incred
ible things for themselves
and their communities,
skills and attributes they
need, such as persistence,
confidence, and healthy
risk-taking, to become busi
ness founders and leaders in
the future.
All of the pro
ceeds fund troop projects
and experiences, as well
as important programming
at the local level, such as
outdoor adventure and sci
ence, technology, engineer
ing, and math (STEM).
From now through March 3,
consumers can support this
iconic leadership program
by purchasing their favorite
cookies like. Thin Mints®,
Samoas®, and Trefoils®
and others.
Thin Mint Throwdown -
Savannah
Thin Mint Throwdown is
annual event where area
bakeries compete to make
the tastiest dessert using our
best-selling Thin Mints®
cookie. This year’s event
will be in Savannah on
Thursday, February 21, at
Cohen’s Retreat. For ad

Home
Each year, GSHG partici
pates in Operation Cookies
from Home, which provides
a great opportunity for the
community to donate box
es of Girl Scout cookies to
troops who are serving over
seas. Last year, our council
sold and shipped more than
15,000 boxes of cookies to
service members as part of
Operation Cookies from
Home.

Diet, Get Moving your
body, and Taking your Med
ication. Informational Flyers
that included the signs of
a Heart Attack were given
to the entire Congregation.

in attendance at the Church
