mia & Lymphoma Society’s
(LLS) mission. The Three
Muskecures, Gowan Smith,

“From the very
start of this campaign, these
students were determined
to exceed all expectations,”
said Alii Kenneweg, LLS
Campaign Manager. “What
they were able to achieve
with the help of their fami
ly and friends in just seven
weeks is truly incredible,
and will have a tremendous
impact on our patients and
their families.”
In addition to top
fundraising awards, Anee
sah Dalai, of Richmond Hill
High School, was recog
nized for her commitment to
LLS and spreading aware
ness of the mission through
the Citizenship Award.
The money raised
by the students will benefit
the critical research and pa

Earth Day Festival and
The Childrens Museum
If you listen care
fully, you can hear the out
doors calling you to play.
The birds are chirping, but
terflies are fluttering, and
bees are buzzing! What bet
ter time than now to get out
side and get dirty; kids dig
dirt!
As Roland Tiango
remarked, “The future be
longs to the few of us still
willing to get our hands
dirty.” Children’s muse
ums across the country are
encouraging authentic ex
periences in nature and ex
periential learning through
the use of gardens, mud
play, and nature centers.
Research has shown that the
best way to engage a child’s
brain is by having them
move their hands. There is
no substitute for activities
that require you to use both
your mind and your body.
Savannah Children’s Mu
seum invites you to join us
as we embrace kinesthetic
learning both through open
exploration and our educa
tional programs. While you
are participating in nature
play, take note of the total
sensory experience—phys
ical, cognitive, and social.
Ask your child to explain
what they are doing and
why. This type of conversa
tion in a hands-on learning
environment increases crit
ical thinking skills which
is necessary to develop the
thought-leaders of tomor
row.
We will be at the
Earth Day Festival at Daf-
fin Park on Saturday, April
20th! Join us to play, learn,
and discover! Who knows
what you will find in the rich
dirt of our Mobile Garden,
maybe even a purple carrot!
As you make your
summer plans, please check
out our awesome and engag
ing summer camps. Register
