Trump was not the only one
who consistently dismantled
the institutional checks and
balances of our democracy.
Trump had, and still has, an
abundance of enablers. Her-
shel Walker would certainly
be another Trump enabler.
A vote for Herschel Walk
er, Trump’s handpicked
candidate, would be a vote
for another “Puppet” who
would blindly and will
ingly follow the dictates
of Trump and assist the
many Republican enablers
and obstructionists in the
U.S. Senate and the House
of Representatives who
have been aiding Trump’s
attempt to lead our gov
ernment into an autocra
cy. By re-electing Warnock
and gaining 51 seats in the
Senate, we will be defeat
ing another loyal supporter
and enabler of America’s
worst President. There will
be one less Senator allowing
fear-mongering, dishonesty,
hate, and greed to be among
the deciding factors for their
actions, rather than govern
ing for the benefit of the peo
ple of Georgia and America.
We, at The Savan
nah Tribune, believe that
Senator Raphael Warnock’s
record speaks for itself.
Since being elected in 2021,
he has adhered to his oath of
office to defend the Consti
tution of the United States
and has honored his obliga
tion to represent ALL of the
people of Georgia and Amer
ica, and not just a political
base. Senator Warnock has
fought for affordable and
accessible health care; job
security through equal pay
and livable wages; as well
as rebuilding our economy
and infrastructure. He has
pushed back against racism,
inequality in the justice sys
tem; and disenfranchisement
at the ballot box. Senator
Warnock has worked to help
reclaim America’s position
of international leadership
and maintain our democratic
form of government.
These are desper
ate and trying times that
demand vision, direction
and leadership. We need
a Senator who appeals to
the enlightened and better
parts of our national spirit.
Senator Warnock is help
ing our nation navigate the
stormy seas to put us back
on course. Thus, we hope
that our readers will vote
to re-elect Senator Raphael
Warnock to represent Geor
gia in the U.S. Senate, and
remind all of your family,
friends and associates to
VOTE for him. Tell them
our lives, the lives of our
children, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren
as well as our democratic
form of government de
pend on it.
The Savannah
Tribune has a proud and
glorious heritage. Our his
tory dates back to 1875,
when three African-Ameri
can civic and business lead
ers recognized the need for
a newspaper dedicated to
serving the African-Ameri
can community. We have al
ways been in the forefront of
positive efforts to move our
people in a direction which
benefits us, as well as the
overall community. There
fore, we are fulfilling our
mission when we encour
age our readers to vote in
this Runoff election.
We made one ma
jor step in the right direction
when we elected President
Joe Biden and Vice Presi
dent Kamala Harris. Now,
we must continue to move
Georgia and America for
ward by reelecting Raphael
Warnock to the U.S. Senate.
