2023 Georgia Logistics Summit
Registration Now Open
The 2023 Georgia
Logistics Summit, to be held
in Savannah, March 8, 2023,
at the Savannah Convention
Center, has now opened regis
tration for participants through
the Summit website at www.
eventbrite.com/e/2023-geor-
gia-logistics-summit-tickets.
Hosted by the Geor
gia Center of Innovation, a
strategic arm of the Georgia
Department of Economic De
velopment, the event will ex
plore the intersection of the
economy, technology, and
growth of Georgia’s ports in
an industry that touches every
facet of commerce.
Keynote presenta
tions will include projected
performance and trend data
for the ports for the next five
years and how the ports are
preparing to meet client needs.
In addition to the port outlook,
industry veterans will share
private sector perspectives on
supply chain visibility tools
and platforms to address both
short and long term technology
needs for the industry. Partic
ipants will leave with a better
understanding of how to shape
their strategies to move cargo
more efficiently and to lower
logistics costs.

$15,000 For Local Nonprofit

nounce that more than $15,000
was raised for beneficiaries of
the year’s 11 monthly events.
Nonprofits highlighted in 2022
showcased a variety of causes
including Savannah Repertory
Theater, Hospice Savannah,
Future Minds Literacy, Savan
nah Crime Stoppers, Coastal
Empire Habitat for Humanity,
and Savannah Speech & Hear
ing.

Station, each month featured
special pop-up shops, excit
ing raffle items, and musical
performances by various local
artists. November was espe
cially significant as Tito’s Vod
ka joined the partnership with
branded giveaways, a signature
Tito’s-inspired cocktail, and a
surprise contribution of $2,000
for the month’s beneficiary,
Shelter from the Rain. “We are
thrilled that our restaurant has
played such an integral role in
this remarkable series,’’ said
Ardsley Station’s Tyler Kop
kas. “As part of the Savannah
community, our team has been
dedicated since day one to giv
ing back and making a tangible
local impact.”
Taking place the third
Tuesday of each month, this
business networking fundraiser
is held at Ardsley Station, 102
E. Victory Drive, from 5:30-7
pm. Guests are encouraged to
make a minimum donation of
$10 to the evening’s nonprof
it; additional donations can be
made through the purchase of
raffle tickets, 100% of both
sales go directly to the non
profit. Admission includes one
complimentary beverage from
an exclusive Station menu, off-
menu hors d’oeuvres prepared
by the award-winning culinary
team, live music, and some of
the city’s most impactful net
working.

What a beautiful day
in Savannah for an induction
and that is just what happened.
The Savannah Chapter of Top
Ladies of Distinction held an
in-person induction on Satur
day, December 3, 2022 at Jeru
salem Baptist Church on ACL
Blvd.
Twenty-three beauti
ful, hardworking Ladies took
an oath and are now members
of the this great organization.
The induction ceremony was
conducted by Lady Adrienne
Boner, Area IV Director. The
Savannah Chapter is the largest
chapter in its area. Area IV en
compasses Tennessee, Missis
sippi, Alabama, Georgia, North
Carolina, South Carolina, and
Florida as well as the island of
Jamaica.

Brother Yusuf Shabazz and Dr.
Estella Edwards Shabazz.
Over 200 people from
different faiths, socioeconomic
backgrounds, philosophies,
and generations attended and
enjoyed music, faith, food, and
togetherness. It was an event
the whole family came to en
joy.

Yusuf Shabazz was a
2022 recipient of the Outstand
ing Georgia Citizen Award,
the state’s highest citizen hon
or. The Georgia Secretary of
State bestowed the award upon
Shabazz because of his life
long devotion to Georgia’s dis
enfranchised communities and
his work as a social crusader.
Dr. Estella Edwards
Shabazz is and has been truly
a servant leader for the peo
ple for many decades. “Words
can not express the honor and
privilege it has been and will
continue to be to partner and
collaborate with the people in
our communities.”
“We always recog
nize we are very grateful, and
the Lord has been very good to
us. Because of the people that
support us exist, therefore we
exist because of them,” said
Yusuf Shabazz.
The Shabazz family
has a long history and hersto-
ry of service and helping shape
change in the community and
they are grateful to be able to
show their gratitude with the
Holiday Party.
