At Athens Saturday, while John Moss
was riding down Clay ton street, his horse
stepped on a dynamite cap, which ex¬
ploded with a deafening sound. The
horse was considerably lacerated on the
legs and belly, but Was not dangerously
hurt.

About two years ago a 2-year-old child
died in Atiantu. short time before its
death ihe child's Lair was trimmed, and
a curl of about one and u half inches was
placed in a box, along w ith smne of
child’s playthings and aquantity of flow¬
ers that had been placed on the coffin on

Lightning struck . the Southern granite
company’s magazine, at the Big Ledge
quarry, at Lithonia, on last Tnesday. A

A straw man was recently put on the
track of the Washington branch to test
the eye-sight of the engineer, to be used

which'cost him, in driving, caring for and
clipping, about $100. To the net profit
add the value of the increase, 300 head,
and we have §801 50, or 78 per cent, profit
