The Editor would be glad to have
old veterans discuss these questions with
D. There is no reason Why we shouldn't
have a reunion, and this is a good way
make a start towards it.
As to the last question, we consider
that discussion of it is useless, because
everybody admits the fact that the only
town in the county is worth more to the
people in its new state, with its nine well
slobked stores, with its cotton market and
its railroad facilities, than was the “old
town of of two years ago, with only three
little stores and none of these other advan¬
tages.. ‘Glad to know that Mr. Malpass
wants to learn the cotton business.
Plain History.
Swift’s Specif! is a simple vegetable
compound, prepared from roots gathered
freshly from the forest and contains noth¬
ing of the mineral kingdom or any jtoia on
ous substance or any article at all which
conies from the chemist's labratory.
The, formula of the remedy was obtained
from tbe Greek IndTaus in Middle Ga. by
reliable white men. t who had witnessed the
wonderful cures made by that tribe
Indians of biuod disease. Mr Hugh L
Dennard of Houston Co Ga, began using
Sft-jft’s Specific in 1829 and continued tliat ita
use all his life and asserted no
never ftboiVn it to Ml to 4 curoany case
scofula bfoija*taint or contagious blood poi¬
son. This testimony has been corrobara
ted every day for years. The present Com¬
pany was formed in 1879 aud have since
made known to the world the
Swift’s Specific and to-day it is sold in ev¬
ery city, town and country store all over
America Great Britian, and rfiany other
portions of the world.
I have seen Swift’s Specific used and
known of many cases of the worst foim
of blood diseases which have been cured by
it I know the proprietors to be gentlemen
of the highest type and utmost reliability.
I reccommcr.d ii as a great blood remedy
unequalled by anything that T kuow of.

Advised to SloJrt Cotton.
Editor Journal •—Please keep it be¬
fore the minds of the farmers that there
will be plenty of cotton bagging for their
use—a littio patience is all that, is necessa¬
ry. There are hut very fewuotes that fall
due before October 15, and most farmers
can certainly hold until their notes are
due, and by so doing it is possible that
the price of cotton may be enhanced. The
gamblers fu futures have sold cotton that
is to be delivered at a certain time, and if
the farmers will hold awhile ruin may
staio the gamblers in the face.
Let every farmer demand ike 8 pounds
rebate before be sells his cotton, Ihe dif¬
ference in weight between cotton bagging
anil jute. Most of the negroes aro buying
jute, and we are not surprised at it tor
several reasons. Frst, they are ignorant
anil are easily duped and cannot see
beyond their noses,' A few of our wbit-6
farmers are using jute. Wo believe self
shness, prejudice or some wrong motive
governs them, for they are not ignorant of
The situation—at least some oi them are
not—and to leave their bothren in the hour
of severe test to fight a stupendous money
combine is dot at atfcommencfable In there.
To save a few cents per bale, thereby
building up the jute trust is like cutting
off the nose to spite the face! We ought
to drop every merchant that sells jntc bag¬
ging and every public ginner who uses it.
Hurrah for cotton bagging and the right.
