OBITUARY- OF MRS. MATTIE
JACKSON.
On Friday morning, March .1, 1907.
the death angel entered the home of
Mr. J. H Jackson and bore awny on
his white wings his loving wife, Mrs
Mattie Jackson. Her death was not
unexpected, as she had been in feeble
health for several months.
She was a great sufferer, although
she borewer sufferings with, patience
and fortitude. She accepted Christ
■as her Savior, in her early • years,
and was noted for her Christian char
abter.
■ Sho was a member of the Baptist
Church at Liberty in this county. She
was devoted to the church and the
Christian cause.
She was' fifty-seven years of age,
and had lived a life of usefulness. She
leaves a heart broken husband, also
one sister and one brother and a
host of relatives and friends to mourn
her loss. The funeral' services were
conducted by Brother Stevens of Ir
winton at the home of the deceased,
and she was laid to rest in the cem
etery at. Mt. Nebo. ■ -
Yes, she is gone, our precious lovpd
one,
And our hearts are bruised and
sore;
Dark the night through which we
are passing,
Hard the sorrows to be borne.
But, look up, ye stricken loved ones.
Though the burning tears may fall;
Think of how our precious Savior
Loves the children, one and all.
Dearest auntie, thou hast lefl us,
Here thy toss we deeply feel;
But tis God tha. has bereft ns,
lie can all our sorrows heal.
