Friday in Irwinton with his porents.
Mr Frank B Chambers, of Tooms
boro. was a very pleasant visitor to

has a large hardwood mill in operation
near Sandy creek, was here Monday on

Miss Mary Glover, who has been the

Burkett, returned to her home near

townsman, Mr Ira E Burkett, who has
been spending some time here, return
ed last Sunday to Dry Branch.
Elder J. L. Hayes, of Mansfield; Ga.
spent last F.iday and Saturday in Ir
winton and was the guest of Mr. and
Mrs. M. Shei herdyand he also filled
Ins regular appointment at Friendship
Sunday.
Mr. Jim Everett, who holds a re
sponsible position with Burden, Smith
& Co., the Empire Store in Macon,
was down to see his mother and father,
Mr and Mrs Geo W Everett last Satur
day and Sunday.
The first quarterly term for 1909, of
Wilkinson county court has been in
session here part of this week and sev
eral cases were disposed of. Among
the visiting in attendance wc noticed
Col. Hugh Chambers of Macon.'
It seems that the fair sex of. Ir
rwinton have just got those Gordeij
‘-"guys” charmed. Its impossible to
keep them away. We don’t blame
l them; they are exercising fine tas^e
and good judgment. Irwinton has
reared more beautiful and highly-cul
tured girls than any other town its
size ip Georgia.
The editor was in Gordon a few days
ago and eallcd around to see Mr H F
Stoke», and during a conversation
with him he stated he gets more re
sults from the advertising lie carries
in the Bulletin^ian from any other
source. This makes the editor feel
good. But Mr. Stokes is a man who
fairies the best in everything and
/sells exactly what he advertises and
^idvertises what he sells. He believes
in keeping his name before the peo
ple.

Dr. R. I. Butler requests us to an
nounce that he will be in Gordon all
next week for the purpose "of doing
dental work. Those desiring any

Miss Byington Entertains.
On last Srturday evening Miss
Rosa Byington entertained a few of
her friends with a Valentine party
from 8 to 10 o’clock nt her beatiful
home on College avenue.
Many interesting games were play
ed and enjoyed, after which a gener
al fruit supper wa’ served by Miss
Byington, charmingly assisted by

Valentine Party.
Mrs. Ira Burkett was the charm
ing hostess at a Valentine party giv
en at her lovely home on Saturday
night for the voting people of the
town in honor of Miss Mary Glover,
of Dry Branch. Mrs. "Burkett was
assisted in her entertaihing by her
sister, Miss Iva Hatfield, her mother,
Mrs. Hatfield and her aunt Mrs.
Geo. Everett. Many interesting
games were played during the even
ing, among them being progressive
Up-J inks. After this there was an
educational contest, making the most
words out of the word ‘•February.”
Prof. Stokes and Miss Myrtle Ever
ett won the prize, a fine baskett of
Huyler’s candy. At 11 oysters were
served. Everyone who attended were
unanimous in their vote of thanks to
Mrs. Burkett and all were charmed
with her as a hostess.
