Miss Rosa Byington and Mr.
Horace Lindsey were united in
marriage in the presence of a
few relatives and friends at the
home of the bride’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. J. L. Byington, in this
city by Rev. C. W. Jordan last
Sunday afternoon at 4:30
o’clock. Just after the marriage
it was announced that a 6
o’clock dinner would be served
and those present were invited
to remain.
The bride is the beautiful and
accomplished daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. J. L. Byington, of this
place. She has lots of friends
and admirers who will be inter
ested to learn of her marriage.
Mr. Lindsey is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. E. C. Lindsey, of this
place. He is one of the most
popular young men of the town
and numbers his friends by his
acquaintances.
The Bulletin, together with
many friends, wish for Mr. and
Mrs. Lindsey a long and happy
married fife.

$20,000 STOLEN.
Valuable Mall Pouch Disappears Be
tween Raleigh and New York.
That a United States mg 11 pouch
routed from Raleigh to New York and
containing $20,000 disappeared two
weeks ago in a manner very similar
to a recently reported $20,000 theft
of a pouch at Lynchburg, Va., became
known at Greensboro, N. C., though
beyond admitting the loss of the val
uable package, offlcals refuse to dis
cuss the matter.
It is declared unofficially that the
Raleigh pouch disappeared after being
receipted for by a mail clerk on a
northbound train passing Greensboro,
and that the clerk in whose custody
it was last placed has been suspended
from the service pending an Investiga
tion.
FIGHT OVER PET DOGS.
Young Woman and Boy Continue Bat
tle Started By Canines.
Interfering in a battle between their
pet dogs, Miss Sallie Bounds and
Floyd Stewart continued the fight
themselves near the town of Semi
nary, Miss , the young woman using
an iron scale beam, and the 14-year
old boy, Stewart, using a pocketknife,
stabbing Miss Bounds several times.
She will probably die.
Both are connected with families
prominent in the . community. Miss
Bounds is the daughter of the Rev. R.
D. Bounds, a Methodist clergymaa.
Goat a Globe Girdler.
A large black East Indian got that
can eat, drink, smoke, chew tobacco
and even talk in "goat fashion," is
in Boston on his fourth trip around
the world as mascot of the German
steamer Adam Sturm. The goat has
an insatiable appetite for tobacco,
cigars and cigarettes, which he de
vourse with avidity, lighted or un
lighted. His tailor tut^s have taught
him to say with some (Clearness “can
na cow,’’ which is native East Indian
for “I want some food.”
Church Made Theater.
The Emanuel Baptist church, in Suf
folk street, north of Grand street.
New York City, will be altered next
month and changed into a theater.
The amusement company got the I
property from the Fifth Avenue Bap
tist church (Rockefeller’s church),
which owned the building. The
church is said to be not only the old
est, but the only Baptist church in
that part of the city.
Couple Burned In Home.
Mr. and Mrs. Salvatore Cortrop’a,
Italians, were burned to death at Lake
Charles, La., when their dwelling was
destroyed by fire. There is strong
suspicion. Officers suspect that the i
couple were slain and their house set
fire to conceal the crime. They had
been married one month.
Nugget In Chicken Crop.
A gold nugget of considerable size
is on exhibition at Seymour, Conn.,
having been found in the crop of a
chicken killed at a local restaurant
Where the nugget came from is not
known.
