Miss Ruth Hall and Mr. John M.
Meeks were happily married last
Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock
at the home of the bride’s parents
near Danville.
Brother E. L. Harrison, of near
Wrightsville, performed the cere
mony in a very impressive and beau
tiful manner.
Mr. Meeks is a very highly es
teemed young man of near Wrights
ville.
Miss Ruth is the daughter of L. L.
Hall of this county, and a beautiful
young lady, not only in appearence,
but her daily life proves her to be
more a Christian.
Just after the marriage they left
for Wrightsville in an automobile
with several friends from Wrights
ville in cars.
May God's blessings rest upon them
and may they live a long happy life
together.

Lafayette His Godfather.
Alexander Lafayette Chew died at
the city hospital at Geneva, N. Y.,
aged 88 years. Mr. Chew was pres!
dent of the First National bank foi
forty-eight years. Mr. Chew’s father
was collector of the port of New Or
leans, and also vice-consul to Russia.
General Lafayette was Mr. Chew's
godfather.
