Official Publication of the Students of orehouse College and Spelman Seminarg Atlanta, Georgia LINES TO MOTHER By Grady Farley, Ac. ’25. Who is that one that lives on earth, A vivid forn^ of love, That fills m,y heart with ardent mirth And lifts my soul above? The words that from her sweet lips fall Are kind, spotless and pure; Her hair is like the leaves of fall, Her thoughts are great and true. Why did you nurse and care for me? What use am I to you? Will ever I return to thee Thy love, and love thee true? You sought nfe in the mfid-night hour And stood beside my bed, And prayed to God to give you pow’r, That I’d be rightly led. Though fate may make me from you part And bring to you sad days, I’ll bear you ever in n^y heart And love you, dear, always.
