The best way to fight breast cancer is through regular screening, even if previous tests have been normal. Studies show that for older women, regular screening through yearly mammograms, clinical exams and month ly self-examination, provides the best chance of survival of breast cancer. Breast cancer is over 90% curable when detected early! According to Dianne Hill, Public Health Nurse, every woman 50 or over should have a mammogram and clini cal breast examination every 12 months, even if there is no history of breast cancer in her family. Women 50 or over who have not had these important tests because of the cost may be eligible for BreasTest and More.
