PHS seniors offer thanks to families and faculty
Dear Parents, Faculty and
State,
Iraak Walton once said,
“Good company in a jour
ney makes the way to see
the shorter."
As we come to the end of
this journey and start
down a new road in our
lives, we want to stop and
thank that “good company"
which has helped us along
the way those who have
molded our lives and made
us who we are, those who
have picked us up when we
have fallen, and those who
have encouraged us to
keep going no matter what.
First, we thank our par
ents. You gave us life. You
have loved us uncondition
ally when no one else did.
You have stood by and up
for us.
You have provided for
our needs and wants, even
when we must have acted,
at times, in a selfish and
unappreciative way.
Although, we don't always
show it. we do love vou verv
much.
Secondly, we want to say
"thanks" to our principal,
Mr. Phil Smith. You have
insured that we could go to
school in a safe environ
ment.
You have expected and
demanded the best from
us, and you have been a
strong leader who has
cared deeply about us and
our education.
Thanks also goes to our
teachers. You have poured
your lives into ours and
have taught us not only
facts and figures but also
how to think critically, how
to get along with others,
and how to discover ways
to get information.
And thanks to the custo
dians, lunchroom workers,
and other support staff. We
appreciate very much all
you have done to make our
years at Perry High School
memorable.
Finally, we want to say
thank you to our family
and friends. You have
made the happier times

even better, the sad times
easier, and the down times
more exciting.
You have given us many
memories which we will
carry with us for the rest of
our lives.

Spinks
Spinks will attend Georgia College and
State University in Milledgeville come the
fall. She plans to major in agricultural
engineering, as “math and Ag classes" are
her favorite classes.
She is excited about “living in a dorm,
making new friends." Commenting, “I am
looking forward to the whole college expe
rience, though 1 will miss my parents so
much that I will be home every weekend."
Her choice of college required “a lot of
consideration, but while Georgia College
and State University small, it has an
excellent reputation." Spinks continued, “I
don’t want to feel like a number."
Choosing a role model in her life was an
easy task. Spinks said, “My mama. She
always wants to help everybody. She
expects me to do my best and pushes me
to succeed; however, she knows whatever I
do I try my best. She just supports me.
My mama is interested in what 1 do and if
I want to try something, she makes sure I
get the chance.
“She is beautiful and smart. I want to
be like her." Spinks added
Spinks advice for others is simple:
“Enjoy the present because you cannot go
