Dr. Michael Drake, headmaster of Westfield, said, "We now have a building that says stop here and get your questions answered.’" The new building at the entrance to Westfield Schools houses all administra tion functions such as the conference room, the headmaster’s office, and the counselor’s office. The administration building is part of a 51.5 million multi-phase construction effort at Westfield. The effort began about three years ago. The final building in the current phase, a new field house for athlet ics, is expected to be complete for football practice in August. Drake said. The clock tower is one, though I have to look over Hamby’s to see it," said Drake. The old Westfield office will now house the computer lab. “This will be much better to teach 21st century classes," explained Drake, adding the lab will offer internet access. “The new pre K building holds 94 chil dren. It just opened and is filled," stated Drake. He continued to explain the school moved kindergarten to a separate building and offers an after school program. It will be a year-around program as well. Wed., June 9. i 999 Clara Cotton - - Clara Cotton, 83, of 1205 Third St., died June 8 at the Summerhill Nursing Home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., June 10 at the Watson-Hunt Chapel. Mrs. Cotton was a native of Americus and had lived in Perry since 1986, moving here from Brunswick. She was a retired registered nurse, and the widow of the late Rhoderic Cotton. Survivors include her sons and daught ers, Robert Cotton of Perry, Jean Cook of Fort Walton Beach. Fla.; Frances Griffin of New Port Richey, Fla., Dallas Cotton of * Unadilla, Roddy Cotton of Gulf Breeze. Fla.; a sister. Mildred Crumpton of Mont gomery, Ala., a brother, Thomas O’Hem of West Palm Beach, Fla., 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Robert Alvin Kennedy Sr. Robert Alvin Kennedy Sr., 84, of Baton Rouge, Louis., died May 30 at his home. Services were held on June 1 at the chapel of Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, and were conducted by the Rev. Jack L. Simpson, the late Mr. Kennedy’s son-in law. Burial was in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Mr. Kennedy was a native of Baton Rouge and a U.S. Merchant Marine Veter an of World War 11. He was a retired opera tor at Allied Chemical with 28 years of ser vice. Rabenhorst Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Sadie Lassetter Wooley Sadie Lassetter Wooley. 84, of 112 Wim bish Way, died June 6 at her home. Funeral services were held at Crossroads United Methodist Church on June 8, with the Rev. Dr. David L. Carter officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery near Blount, Ga. Bom in Monroe County, Mrs. Wooley had lived in Perry for a year and a half. She was a former longtime resident of Warner Robins and was a retired Civil Service accounting clerk with 34 years of service at Robins Air Force Base. She was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church, the AARP and the National Associ ation of Retired Federal Employees. Survivors include her daughters. Rose Tucker of Perry and Lasseter P. Stephens of Clarkston; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Houston County, 2066 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, Ga., 31093.
