Sean and Heather Meyer have moved their wedding date to Nov. 6. Heather has completed two years at Georgia Southwestern Uni versity and will resume her education at State Universi ty of West Georgia following their wedding. Congratulations to Wilbur “Biir Underwood Jr. who has received a certifi cate from the State of Geor gia commemorating the completion of more than 50 years of service as a mem ber of the Bar of the State of Georgia. Bill also has received a letter from Randolph W. Thrower, class agent of Emory University, inviting him to a 65th class reunion of the Class of 1934 College of Business in September. Bill and Floy Underwood have lived in Perry on Greenwood Circle since 1981. They have two sons, Wilbur H. Mostellers celebrate 50th anniversary By JOAN DORSETT Home Journal Staff Luther and Billie Mosteller were honored June 21 by their children with a 50th wedding anniversary luncheon at New Perry Hotel. Places were laid for Luther and Billie, their son Martin, Donna and Margo who is 16, their daughter Becky, Ken and Jenny age 16 and Beth age 13, Bertie Riner of Roswell. Glenice and Curtis Terry of Ameri cus. her brother Vasser Goode of Br on wood, her sister Dot and Perry Will ingham of Camilla and their sister-in-law Agnes Mosteller. During the celebration the couple renewed the vows they made June 21, 1949 at their preacher’s home in Leesburg, this time led by their son-in-law Ken Brooks who is minis ter of music at Cochran First Baptist Church. They exchanged anniver sary gifts when they had once exchanged rings. Their June 12 formal wedding at Perry United Methodist Church continued with a reception and dance to music by the Sensations at the Officers Club at Robins Air Force Base. Steve and Mandi are at home at Wingate off Watson in Warner Robins. He is account executive with Core Management Re sources Group in Macon and Mandi teaches at Miller Elementary School in Warner Robins. Meanwhile, Mandi’s sis ter Laura, 1999 Westfield Schools graduate, is at Georgia Southern Universi ty for orientation for fresh men. ••• * Congratulations to Clay Hughes and Jill Prickett upon their recent engage ment. They both are Perry High School graduates. Clay is employed at Blue Bird Body Co. and Jill works at Taylor Regional Hospital. Their wedding is planned for Feb. 19. • •• Susannah McPherson, the lovely wife of Henderson Village manager Stuart McPherson, recently arrived and we welcome her to Perry. Their dog Angus, a funny golden retriever, has the best life ever. Stuart says Angus has lost 10 pounds chasing and treeing squir rels who are much more cautious now. Sunday morning was unusually special in the Willing Workers class taught by Mary Weidel at First Baptist Church Perry. Becky, Jenny and Beth served refreshments to a perfect attendance class to honor their loved one. Billie Goode came to Perry to teach my first grade class right out of col lege and lived in the Coop er house on Washington Street which is now home to Wallis and Paula Hurl butt. Luther lived with his parents just down the street. That’s where the newlyweds made their home and live to this day. First thing she and I did was shop the Camellia & Main overstock sale that was held for the first time ever in Macon. It is held in Fort Valley at the ware house and is one of my very favorite shopping experiences. Then I played the tour guide for Sherry and we really tried to take ty. She is district account supervisor for Hershey Chocolate, USA. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ben Stage of Lake land, Fla., Mrs. Jeanette Vogel and the late Mr. Cor nelius Vogel of Fulton, 111. A graduate of Rockdale County High School in Conyers, he graduated from Gwinnett Technical Institute with an associ ate’s degree in horticul ture. He is a member of the American and Georgia Golf Course Superintendents’ Association. He is the second assis tant superintendent at Jennings-Mill Country Club in Athens. Corn Salad cup red wine vinegar ‘A cup olive oil • 3 cloves garlic, crushed % teaspoon salt \ teaspoon pepper 3 (15 oz.) cans black beans, drained 10 oz.. frozen com, thawed 1 large red pepper, chopped 1 medium green pepper, chopped \ - 1 medium purple onion, chopped Combine first 4 ingredients and let stand 30 minutes. Mix remaining ingredi ents and toss with vinegar mixture.
