Protect Your fit
Cotton Investment
With its built-in resistance to worms,
Bt cotton has become one of the
[
most exciting
industry innova
tions since
pyiethroids. But
with growers
being charged a
technology fee
for every acre of
Bt cotton planted,
additional pest
management
took have
become a critically
important way to
protect the Bt cotton investment.
Fill in the gaps in your fit cotton
insect control program by using a
broad-spectrum product, such as new
KARATE* Z insecticide. The unique.
I quick-release, encapsulated formula
tion developed through Zeon~ tech
nology provides a fast knockdown of
cotton-damaging insects and long
residual control unlike products with
older chemistries
By midseason, a wide variety of
insects can destroy the bottom fruiting
branches of the plant, which accounts
for the most profitable yields. Bt cotton
can handle the tobacco budworm on
its own. It also suppresses the cotton
bolhvorm. But that pest and others
may escape its protection.
As for boll weevils and secondary
pests, such as plant bugs, stink bugs
and fall armyworm, Bt cotton is as vul
nerable as any other variety. In fact, fit
cotton may be more vulnerable since
its control is aimed at tobacco bud
worm and bolhvorm.
Over time, resistance among
worms to the Bacillus thuringienns
( Bt) tooan can develop. Uncontrolled
secondary pests can significantly
reduce yields and threaten profits.
Karate Z can help you avoid Bt resis
tance by controlling any worms that
come through the Bt cotton.
Karate Z comes from a das of
insect control completely unlike the
Bt Moon. The capsules that surround
the active ingredient wont diffuse
until Karate Z is applied. After releasing
most of its active obedient * appli
cation, the capsules collapse and
continue releasing acme ingredient for
longer tesidual control than products
with older chemistries.
In addition, the pest control Karate Z
offers is so complete that tank mixing
with other insecticides is often unnec
esttiy
I The fewer peso your cotton crog
has to bottle, the more fait you’ll pw ‘
through the gm and the more profit
you’ll nuke. For mote information
about Karate Z, contact your local ag
cheat retailer.
