Buddy actually became interested in running as a child on dirt roads in front of his dad’s jeep. In Fort Val ley he tried out for track at age 13 and did well. But as a 14-year-old freshman at Central Fellowship Christ ian Academy he and four of the better runners who had never even had cross coun try training won state in cross country racing. Buddy also did well in track and field. The next year with Buddy as captain the same guys won state cross country again. And Buddy won state in mile with 4 minutes 38 seconds. He recently won the Jim Herring 5K race at Galleria Mall in Centerville. His proud dad says he is a very gifted runner and still young and is a good kid.
