Larry Hutchens and Willard Parker, worked with their family members and about 70 other band parents, operating the concession stand and compiling a whop ping 561 volunteer hours. “It took a lot of time and effort, but the entire group of band parents worked together on this project,” said Rettv RHlamy “We all recognize that the band program is so valuable for our chil dren. it provides them the opportunity to develop many teaming and leadership skills," she said. Hutcheson, the Pride of Crossroads Band Director, said, “We appreciate the volunteer hours and the energy committed by the par ents. We especially appreciate our Weyer haeuser parents for their continued support and the company for making WAVEs avail able to help out the band program.” Weyerhaeuser’s Flint River Operations, locat ed in Oglethorpe since 1980, employees approximately 400 per sons from the middle Georgia area, and pro duces enough cellulose Shiloh Baptist, 210 Whitworth Road, Elk«> .987-3950 Spring Creek Baptist, Flournoy Road 987-9326 Tharpe Memorial Baptist, 2758 U.S 41 N . 987-11 In Catholic St. fatricks Catholic, 1039 St. fttrick's Drive . 987 4213 Christian First Christian Church, 2100 Macon Road .987-5428 Church of Christ Church of Christ, U. 5.41 N -4268 Midway B.
