Sendek graduated from Perry High School in 1991. "This is what 1 wanted to do when I graduated. I wanted to come back here and teach theater." Of the 40-member cast, six of the eight leads are assigned to seniors. The other two leads are held by a junior and a freshman. The lead actors with their parts are Megan Strand burg. Leading Player: Brett Copeland. Pippin: Michael Walenceus, Charlemagne: Micha Froehlich. Fastrada; Megan Boyd, Catherine: Amanda Davis, Berthe: and Loren Noel. Theo. The additional cast mem bers are Chad Alligood. Shay Allmond, Karen Bemis, Michael Brenner, Emily Cauthon, Crystal Cole, Jessica Davidson, Ronda Denton, Kasey Dominy. Nancy Evans, Samantha Evans, Courtney Farmer, Tequila Jackson. Tanya Lawrence. Crystal Maddox, Charlene Melon dez. Courtnev Phillips, Jade Prickett, Kokethia Ragin. Sam Skellie. Gabrielle Smith, Michelle Smith, Courtney Thrift. Adrianne Tucker, Jessie Wachowiak. Astrid Wade, Sarah Wagner, Anita Welling, Jessica Wood, and Jenna Leech. Auditions for “Pippin" were held the end ot August. Practice is four days a week, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the leads have an additional rehearsal. “These are amazing per formers," said Sendek. "Take the opening number. I thought it would take them at least two days to learn all the dance steps. They learned it in less than two hours. It is their will ingness to learn and work hard to achieve that goal. They get here before me ready to practice. No egos, no complaints.” He said what amazes him is that tin majority ot students are “AP students." Sendek is happy he has several people assisting the product ion: Francesch Riley, stage manager: and Celia Rice, assistant dance instructor. Mr. Copeland is constructing the set and several parents are helping with the sewing of the cos tumes Sendek designed. "It is great having so many people care." said Sendek. The One Act Play will perform at the Georgia Theater Conference in Columbus Nov. 7 and begin Regional Competition Nov. 11l lowever, Sendek said family and friends will have an opportunity to view the One Act prior to Nov. 7. The play is a zany, behind the-scenes look at the mak ing of a live radio broadcast during Christmas of 1942. This is a fast paced show perfect for the entire family.
