Lifestyle Page 1B Head for joan, 2 lines at 30 point It’s been a big year for Dr. Bill and Peggy Jerles, and Friday evening found them celebrating Bill's 65th birthday, Peggy's 39th(!) and their 40th wedding anniversary. They and their children Billy and Dawn Jerles, Kelly Jerles of Nashville and Dr. Matthew and Tami Jerles of Macon invited a group of middle Georgia relatives and friends to join them in the ballroom of Idle Hour Country Club for food, fel lowship and family enter tainment. Warmly welcomed on behalf of the family by Matt Jerles who paid loving trib ute to parents who raised them right, delighted guests were treated to an evening of musical enter tainment by talented chil dren and relatives of the Jerles. They were accompa nied on piano by Bob Finney who performed with Kelly in Aspen and Vail. Billy sang back up from “way back" as he had been told he can really carry a tune and dad Bill chimed in with “King of the Road" like the king of this family he really is. He even coop erated when encouraged t o sing “Dixie" and did a memorable rendition. Peggy's brother A 1 Pearson charmed the ballroom crowd with tunes from “Fiddler on the Roof." This enjoyable event coincided with Kellv's 15th Westfield class reunion Saturday which she attended. • •• Bride-elect Amy Phelps was honored Sept. 11 with a shower tea at Crossroads Methodist Church fellow ship hall by the following friends: Di Lanier. Lynda Noles, Joyce Brooks, Sue Fleming, Carrie Whidden, Mandy Noles, Sharon Wright, Patty Kakritz, Emily Montgomery. Leanne Greene. Rose McKinney and Alvalyn Pope. Amy's marriage to Jonathan Fouse is planned for Oct. 9 at Crossroads Methodist Church. • •• The Alzheimer's Support Group will meet at Perry Hospital Cafeteria Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. Program speaker will be Eddie Coffee. • •• The Rev. Dr. Billy and Sunshine Key traveled to Augusta for a Labor Day visit with their son Dannv Key and his family who just three weeks ago moved to Augusta from Houston. Texas. Having served eight years as music director at First United Methodist Church in Houston, the largest of Methodist churches in the United States. Danny has moved back to Georgia to direct music for Trinity on the Hill Methodist Church at Augusta. Danny and Kris' boys are attending high school in the Columbia school sys tem. Nick as senior and Kyle as freshman. Billy and Sunshine com pleted their holiday with an overnight in Dublin with their daughter Betsy Moran and her family. They were back in Perry to celebrate their 53rd wed ding anniversary' Sept. 12. • •• Alan and Kastina Rowell are honeymooning this week at Disney World fol lowing their afternoon wed ding Perry First Baptist Church Sept . 11. Father of the bride the Rev. Ron Nolan had "all he could handle to walk Kastina down the aisle and give her away to Alan" and left mar riage v'ows and exchanging of rings to his First Christ ian Church Associate Pas tor Bob Beltz. The church was filled with Alan's Conners Car pet Max and Kastina's Utili ty Service Co. Inc. co-work ers, Alan’s First Baptist and Kastina's F'irst Christ ian friends and both their large families and oodles of youngsters dressed to the nines. Alan's groomsmen wore red rose boutonnieres to compliment the red satin gowns of Kastina's bridal attendants. The tall bride was beautiful in her glim mering white wedding gown. Alan's aunt and sister of his mother Kay, Beverly Jacobs O'Dell, was in the company of her fiance Tom Malone. Perry friends will be pleased that the widow and widower who met in church when he moved to Prattville a year ago will be married in two weeks in a garden wedding at Bever lv’s home. Everyone got to meet lit tle Timothy Scott Heath, brand new brother of twins Alex and Steven and son of Mark and Angie Heath, cousins of the groom. • •• Donnie and Judy Free entertained at their camp house on Elko Road Satur day evening for the new manager of Cagle’s, Alan Habegger. and his wife Car ole who is an artist. They have moved from Athens and are residing at The Heather at Houston Lake. Carole’s specialties are faux finishes and painting on furniture pieces, she teaches art classes.
