Srm The 10th Anniversary of the Georgia National Fair, Oct. 8-17, will be a 'perfect 10,' Michael Froehlich, executive director of the Georgia National Fair and Agricenter, said recently. This will be the Fair Bear's last blast beiore the millennium,' he added. According to Froehlich, the Georgia National Fair has a varied lineup of entertainment and attrac tions this year. Free entertainment includes Buck Trout Puppet Stage Show, Ed and Geraldine's Old- Time Music and Oscar' the Pro- Bot. Also available for free Will be The Royal Hannejord Circus, Leon Jacobs, Alan Redfctone's One Man Band, Zeek's Model 'A' and Hillbilly Encampment, and Chuck and Yvonne organ grinders with trained monkeys Other free acts include Stiltwalker Tndd Lagessie, GT Bike TRIP TO HIMAIAYA - Those bold enough to ven ture an this tide Will take a trip on the Himalaya, one of the feature rines of die Relthoffer midway at the ~ Houston Home Journal Georgia National Fair and Blades Show, Juggler Dale Jones, High Energy Music of Matt and Robyn, Knudsen Brothers, Puppetone Rockers, Pangeae Wildlife Show and Tadpole the Clown. Other free acts include Masters of the Chainsaw, Southern States Percheron Hitch Team, Phillips Exotic Petting Zoo, Clovers and Company presents a 4-H Show, and, the nightly fireworks display by Zambelli. 'Zambelli is the first family of fireworks. This will be the best fireworks show ever. Zambelli did the fireworks for the Big Bang Boon this past July 4 for us,' said Froehlich. The fireworks are a 10- year tradition near closing of the fair each evening. Froehlich said the fair will have a daily Scavenger Hunt Teople will go around the fair to various stories of agriculture and find answers to questions. They turn in the completed form. Those with the right answers will be in a Georgia National Fair. Reithoffer is the only company to have served the Georgia National Fair Guide to the Perry, Ga., Wednesday, Oct. 6,1999 - drawing for nice prizes.' Froehlich said fairgoers will not want to miss the last Sunday of the fair. 'As a special Last Blast Sunday, we are giving door prizes away hourly, and on that last day of the fair, you can nde all the rides you want for only slo.' The Georgia Agricultural Exposition Authority is pleased with the 1999 concert series. Froehlich said Georgia native Trisha Yearwood with opening act John Barry will perform at the Reaves Arena Oct. 9 at 7:30 pm George Jones and the True Value Jimmy Dean Country Showdown will be live on stage Oct. 14 at 8 pm. Monica with opening act Grits will perform QcL 15 at 8 pm. and on Oct. 16 at 7:30 pm. Sawyer Brown with opening act Toby Keith will be entertaining the masses. Tickets are $24.50 for each of the concerts except the George lones concert. 'As a special thank you and a tribute to the 10th anniversary of Page 1B the fair, we are offering George Jones' concert tickets for $lO through Oct. 7. After Oct. 7, the tickets will be sl6,' said Froehlich. All tickets include entrance into the fair Gate admission is $5 for adults dally, children 10 and under are free with a paying adult. Daily senior citizen admission is $4 (60 years or older). Season passes are $35 for a full 10-day pass, but must be purchased prior to Oct 7. Fair hours are Bam -10 pm. daily. Exhibit buildings are open Monday through Friday noon to 10 pm., Saturdays 9 am. to 10 pm., and Sundays 9 am. to 9 pm. Midway opens Monday at noon, Tuesday through Friday 4 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. and Sundays at noon. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday people can ride all the Midway rides they want for only sl2. That is a great deal,' said Froehlich.
