The Panthers return home home Oct. 22 1 1 celebrate Homecoming and fake on the Southeast Warriors. The game is a region 4- A\ game in the Georgia High School Association. After Southeast, the Pan thers face region opponents Harris County, Macon ( ounty and Bleckley Coun ty. The playoffs that seemed so ( lose in August after the 7 3 season last year are way off in the distance now but the Panthers can still salvage their season by win ning four straight. Southeast has won three games this season. They will arrive in Perry after losing two straight including a 34 0 Dodge County humiliation last week. Harris County stands at 3-3 right now while Macon County is 2-4. Bleckley has yet to pick up their first win of the season. Harris, Macon and Bleck ley also all have undefeated Dodge County left on their schedules. Southeast had a winless season last year, but lost five games by a touchdown or less. They returned only seven starters from last year's team and like the Panthers, Southeast has several play ers that have to play on both sides of the ball. Two of those young men. Both landed in the top five for leading tacklers in the region last year and are also considered two of the Warrior’s best receivers. “It is a relief not to have to get ready for a Mary Per sons or a Dodge,” said Ath letic Director George Collins. “But we won’t be changing anything we do this week. Same thing we have done all season, get ready and play hard." Game time will be 8 p.m. at the Panther Pit. Trainer who graduated last year. Both Arnold and Hulbert said he was a patient teacher to them as they learned their way around the football sidelines. “He really taught us a lot about what to do, and how to do it" the girls agreed. Arnold will continue her football duties, even though she reports to Leigh Ann Johnson’s bas ketball team for practice this week. Hulbert, who is Sports Notebook Horse Lovers Club plans Nov. 6 fun show Horse Lover’s Club will host its first Fun Show Nov. 6 at the Dou ble J Ranch, Fort Valley. The show is open to all breeds of horses. Classes begin at 9 a.m. The Fall Fun Show will fea ture 45 classes including hal ter. huntseat, saddle seat, gaited, trail, and western pleasure. There will also be many fun classes. Two classes catering to spe cial needs riders are sched uled as well. There will be no charge to participate in these classes. Entry fees are $5 for regu lar classes and $3 for the fun • classes. A concession stand will be open. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
