maintain that we have a
right to hold onto those val
ues. That is what is at stake
here," Boy Scouts
spokesman Greg Shields
said. “An appeal to the U.S.
Supreme Court on First
Amendment grounds is

The Boy Scouts are a
great organization and
work hard to better our
youth on a daily basis. The
good moral principles on
which the organization was
founded are well known by
any youth, or their parents,
who chose to enter scout
ing. All they .need to do is
read the Scout Oath. ,It
states the mission of tne

Homosexuality certainly
does nothing for traditional
family values. Nor does it
help one to keep themselves
physically strong, mentally
awake or morally straight.
Then . there is no doubt
that if you believe the writ
ings in the Bible, homosex
uality is a sin. And yes, so
are adultery, lying cheating
and stealing, but I don’t see
groups of organized adul
terers, liars or thieves going
around the country demon
strating and demanding
their rights.
Yes, we should love all
people, pray for them and
also pray that God will
bring them out of their
lifestyles. But, we cannot
accept these lifestyles as
normal.

An eye for baseball

That’s the mantra for professional
baseball. But as with many skills,
hitting a baseball (especially one
arriving at home plate going 98
miles per hour) is easier said than
done.
When you think of a switch hit
ter, you think about someone
equally adept batting from either
side of the plate, someone who can
bat left-handed or right-handed.
Interestingly, successful switch hit
ters probably enjoy equal domi
nance of not just their arms but
their eyes!

really hurting. By 1 a.m.,
everyone was tired. When
the students got on the bus,
they went to sleep. We
arrived back in Perry around
4 a.m. and the kids had to
