OFFICIAL WELCOME Members of the Perry City Council and the employ ees of the Perry City Hall will offer an informal open house as part of the cele bration of the city's 175th birthday Nov. 19. The birthday celebration will be held at the courthouse, which the city purchased from the Houston County Board of Education and remodeled for city hall use. Also part of the day will be the cutting of a large birthday cake and a program highlighted by the appearance of Ga. Gov. Roy Barnes. I would see him there and sit down with him and he would tell me about the war. The bridge was orig inally built without con crete approach ramps as was common practice at that time. The Council approved Sharp’s recommendation to repair the entrance ramps at a cost of $6,000 and request DOT for assistance in the pil ings. The bridge provides the easiest access to the indus trial Dark at present. When the Perry Parkway extension is complete, heavy trucks will be routed via that 4-lane highway. The City Council approved a request by the Houston County Commissioners to impose a limited moratorium on issuance of building per mits for land classified as M -2 along Perry Parkway.
