Obituaries Gerald S. Abridge Gerald S. Akridge, 45, of 205 Morgan Drive, Warner Robins, died Nov. 15 at the Houston Medical Center. Services were held Nov. 11 at the McCullough Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gene Bowman officiat ing. A native of Charleston, W.Va., Mr. Akridge was employed by Andrew and Son Well Drilling as a well technician. His wife. Debra Akridge, preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother Marian Akridge of Perry; his son. Travis Akridge of Warner Robins; his step son. Michael Day of Warner Robins; his brother. Steve Akridge of Perry; and his sisters, Beth Bresnahan of Maryland and Becky Mitchell of Warner Robins. McCullough Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Caroline B. Clark Caroline Braswell Clark, 88, of 500 Stanley St., died Nov. 17, 1999, at the Perry I lospital. Funeral services were held at Watson-Hunt Chapel Nov. 21. with the Rev. Tom Teate officiating. Honorees of the event were Jennifer Welch of Manpower Inc.; Larry Walker of Walker Insurance Agency: and Tee Tolleson, owner of the professional office space building Mellco. Mulled cider and cookies will be served and Linton McK night, author of the book, “Birthflowers of the Landscape”, will speak at 2 p.m. He is the winner of the 1999 "Author of tin- Year” award in the Nature Writing Division from the Georgia Writers' Association, and has appeared on Home and Garden TV . as well as the A&E network. His book will be available for sale and autographing. Kings Chapel parents treated to turkey and trimmings Some 90 parents of second graders at Kings Chapel Ele mentary School were on hand Nov. 17 to enjoy Thanksgiv ing dinner with their children. The menu included turkey and dressing, ham. sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, pumpkin pie and other traditional foods, as well as an optional menu of corn dogs or peanut butter sandwiches. Danny Lamb Danny Lamb, 49, died Nov. 21. Services were held at 3 p.m., Nov. 23, at the Perry Church of God, with burial in the Perry Memorial Gar dens., with the Rev. Bobby Pope and the Rev. Jimmy Revell officiating. A native of Lakeland, Florida, Mr. Lamb had lived here for 39 years. He was an army veteran, a sales man, and a member of the Perry Church of God. Survivors include his children. Kyle Lamb of Tal lahassee, and Shannon Katz of Mesa, Ariz.; his par ents, the Rev. Charles Lamb and Carolyn McDon ald Dimb of Perry; his sis ters. Services were held Nov. 21 at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church, with the Rev. Dorris Dameron officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bom in Notasulga, Ala., Mrs. Owen had lived here for three years. She was a former resident of Colum bus for 45 years. She was a homemaker, widow of Harry E. Owen and a mem ber of the Christ’s Sancti fied Holy Church. She is survived by a number of great nieces and nephews. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Elizabeth S. Shaw Elizabeth S. Shaw, 87, of Perry, died Nov. 21. Services were held Nov. 23 at the Manchester City Cemetery, with the Rev. Sheila Feightner officiating. A native of Atlanta, Mrs. Shaw was the widow of William J. Shaw, and had lived here for 19 years. She was a retired secretary, a graduate of Oglethorpe University and a member of the Perry United Methodist Church and the Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class. Survivors include her children, H. Allan Shaw of Perry and Jeri Sorrow of Chattanooga, two grand children and two great grandchildren. Tom Murphy and Dea con Ralph McAtee official ed. Born in Sehuykill Coun ty, Pa., Mr. Takach had lived here for two years, moving from Ocala, Fla. He was a World War II Army veteran, a retired master tailor and quality control manager for Oxford-Lanier Industries and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife. Julia Kapitula Takach of Perry: daughters, Joanne Fast of Perry and Bernadette Conner of Vir ginia; a sister and brother, Margaret Vorshock of White Hall, Pa.; and Paul Takach of McAdoo. Pa.; a grandson. Bernard A. Fanning, and a great-grandson, Alexander J. Fanning. The family suggests donations to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, P.O.
