and also in its treatment. Current
ly, doctors may treat this disease
with drops and ointments applied
directly to the eyes. In some cases,

laser surgery that opens what is
called the “angle.” The angle is a
narrow band around the iris (the
colored part of the eye that con
tains many blood vessels into
which the liquid of the eye drains).
