i| 1 1 ii Sjm ’Sop ' ?^^ r ' SftsG* ,v *s^, s> > *v\%v. n iv , MGT completes flawless accreditation evaluation During the week of Sept. 13-16, Middle Georgia Technical Institute hosted a five-person evaluation team representing the Council on Occupational Education (COE). This team was composed of educators from Louisiana, Tennessee and Florida. They conducted a six-year accreditation reaffirmation visit to verify that MGT was operating according to COE standards. Ten standards were reviewed with No Findings and No Recommendations. This performance replicated the results of the October 1993 evaluation when MQT achieved the same results. “Middle Georgia Tech has one of the best run facilities I’ve seen in my twenty years of making these reviews,” stat ed Mr. James Jansa, the Assistant Team Leader. The review team commended the staff and faculty on their thorough preparation for the review. “I’m delighted although not surprised with these out standing results,” stated President Billy Edenfield. “The staff and faculty are to be commended for their dedication and hard work. It's a team effort as we strive to better serve the community and train the workforce of the 21st century'.” The Georgia Dental Education Foundation recently contributed SI,OOO to the Middle Georgia Technical Institute Foundation, Inc. to be used as two SSOO scholarships for deserving first year Dental Hygiene Students at MGT. The Dental Hygiene Program, which will begin in January 2000, is Middle Georgia Tech’s first Associate Degree Program. Winter Quarter registration under way Applications are now being accepted for the Winter Quarter at Middle Georgia Tech, which will begin Jan. 5,2000. Since a record enrollment is anticipated, applicants should apply early to ensure their place in the program of their choice. Registration for all new students is scheduled tor Monday, Dec. 20. All new students accepted for admission will receive a letter of acceptance identi fying the exact time for their registration. Middle Georgia Tech will be offering 22 differ ent diploma programs for the Winter Quarter, including four programs that are included in the A Quarterly Publication Of Middle Georgia Technical Institute • Winter 2000 • No. 36 Co-op Program between MGT and Robins Air Force Base: Aircraft Structural Technology, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Electronics Technology and Machine Tool Technology. In addition, a variety of certificate programs will also be offered. Most programs will be offered in both day and evening classes. Applications for admission to MGT are available in the Admissions Office. Wiggins has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Middle Georgia Technical Institute by the State Board of the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education. She was officially sworn in at a cer emony on Aug. 23,1999, at Middle Georgia Tech. Ms. Wiggins attended the University of Georgia in Athens and Georgia Southwestern College in Americus. She is the Vice President for Operations for Eddie Wiggins Toyota in Warner Robins. Her many civic activities include Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce, Goodwill Board.
