Pulaski center offers benefits of main MGT campus Pulaski County residents now have a unique opportunity to attend Middle Georgia Tech classes without leaving their county. MGT invites you to stop by the Pulaski County Education Center, located outside the gates of Hollingsworth and Vose in Hawkinsville, and find out how they can help you reach your education/training goals. A variety of education and training ser vices are being offered including technical certificate and diploma classes, adult litera cy training, continuing education classes and even customized business and industry training. Katy Bentley, Director of the Center, is anxious to show members of the community how the center can help them. “We can accommodate the training needs of the individual and those of busi nesses as well. If there is a particular class or series of classes that you or your business would like to see in Hawkinsville, just call the Center and we can discuss the details of making it happen. From a basic computer class to OSHA safety classes, it doesn't matter. We will do our best to accommodate you and your business.” states Ms. Bentley. The same financial assistance available at Middle Georgia Tech is also available to students attending the Center including the HOPE Scholarship and the Pell Grant. “So many people don't know that the HOPE Grant pays tuition, all mandatory fees and also includes a book allowance of up to SIOO each quarter for Georgia residents enrolled in a diploma or certificate program at a technical school regardless of financial need or prior grade point average” pointed out Ms. Bentley. “There is no excuse not to obtain the education or training you need for a good job especially since it’s virtually free.” Ongoing computer classes are currently being held at the Center including / Check out the Better Business Bureau Middle Georgia Tech is a member of the Better Business Bureau of Central Georgia, Inc. The follow ing are some of the services available for members: / Direct fact-finding service on new, unknown or questionable propositions. / Reports on those who ask you for contributions for advertising, charitable or civic purposes. / A continued program to encourage good adver tising and selling practices and to curb those that are harmful. / Help for your employees, family and customers when they have questions or difficulties in business transactions. / Protection against unnecessary loss of hard earned money on any number of schemes and rip-offs that tarnish the good name of legitimate businesses. ✓ Membership Identification Program (MIP) Participation or telephone handling of complaints as an integral part of membership with no addition al charge. Introduction to Computers, Microsoft Word and Excel with day and evening classes being offered. GED preparation classes are also being offered during the day and evenings with an extended classroom locat ed at Pillowtex. A Certified Nursing Assistant Program, a Fatherhood Initiative Program and New Connections to Work programs are also currently being held. These are just a few of the offerings avail able at the Pulaski County Education Center.
