Obituaries Peggy Darsey Waldrop Peggy Darsey Waldrop. 60. of Kath leen. died Dec. 6, at her home. Ser vices will be held at Watson-Hunt Chapel at 2 p.m., Dec. 9, with the Rev. Jimmy Rozier officiating. Burial will be in the Bowers Cemetery in East man. Visitation will be at the Watson- Hunt Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Dec. 8. Mrs. Waldrop was a native of Dodge County, and had lived in Houston County for 37 years. A retired civil service employee from Robins Air Force Base, she was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hawkinsville. She is survived by her husband. James Waldrop of Kathleen; her daughters, Daphene Rogers of Pine Mountain and Wanda Blackstone of Kathleen; her mother. Molly Darsey of Hawkinsville. and brothers and sis ters: Ann Saylor. Malen Darsey and Amos Darsey, all of Hawkinsville. Larry Darsey and Ellie Lee Wilson, both of Perry; Alice Johnson of Elko, Maxine Belflower of Roddy, Christine Albritton of Bonaire, and two grand children. Funeral plans were incomplete at press time. Collis Howard Griffin Collis Howard Griffin, 68. of Kenne saw, died Nov. 29, 1999. A memorial service was held on dec. 2 at the Med ford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta. Mr. Griffin was a resident of Cobb County and a self-employed para chute designer and manufacturer. Glenn Lee VanFossen Glen Lee VanFos sen, 82, of Perry, died Dec. 5. 1999. Funeral services were planned for 11 a.m., Dec. 8, at the Crossroads Unit ed Methodist Church, with entombment in Perry Memorial Gar dens Mausoleum. A native of Ohio, he had lived in Perry for 49 years. He was a graduate of Ohio State University with a degree from the College of Agricul ture, Department of Rural Economics. Funeral services were held on Dec. 4 at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church, with the Rev. Johnny Rogers, the Rev. Herston Ware and the Rev. B.E. Simons officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Bates was born in LaGrange. He was a retired building superinten dent for 20 years with Hillcrest Foods in Suwannee. He had lived here eight years, moving from Ft. Mill, S.C. He was a member of the Christ’s Sancti fied Holy Church. Survivors include his wife. Eliza beth Dempsey Bates of Perry; his daughter, Pat Cosby of Jacksonville, Fla.; his son, Bobby G. Bates of Nor folk, Va.; his sisters and brother, Marie Williams, Ocie Mae Dempsey, Frances Simons, and Carl Kessler, all of Perry. Elizabeth Hill of Norfolk.
