Pre-regis tration should be done two weeks prior to the test date. A cash payment of $45 for the entire test is required at the time of registration. Retests are $9 per section (there are 5 parts to the test). All GED test fees are non-refund able. It is recommended that initial testing be completed in two testing sessions within a maximum period of six weeks. Special per mission is required for applicants under 18 years of age prior to the test. Applications for special permission for under age testers can be picked up at the Corder Road Campus. • Applicants should arrive at 7:30 a.m. Applicants must have a photo I.D. that indi cates date of birth. GED tests are available in the following special editions: audiocassette. Braille. Large Print English. French and Spanish. The dedication and ribbon cutting of DTAE’s SAVE Center (Staff and Volunteer Enhancement Center) located in Middle Georgia Tech’s Corder Road campus was held on Nov. 3. Meetings, training and staff development for ail of Georgia’s Adult Literacy volunteers and staff will be held at this location. The cen ter includes three training rooms and can accommodate up to 100 people. The ribbon is being cut by Dr. DeVard- Kemp, Assistant Commissioner, Adult Literacy Programs for the DTAE. Adult Literacy names seven EAGLE winners Seven students were recent ly named Exceptional Adult Georgians in Literacy Education (EAGLE) winners from the Service Delivery Area (SDA) 32’s annual competition held recently at Middle Georgia Technical Institute’s Adult Literacy Training Center on Corder Road. SDA 32 includes Houston. Peach. Dooly and Pulaski counties. The EAGLE awards program, sponsored by the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education, recognizes and honors students who have demonstrated superior lehieveinent in adult literacy classes and programs. In the ELP categories, Maria Lievanos of Houston County, Beginning ELP win ner, was nominated by Anna Epstein. Intermediate ELP winner, Ismael Reyes of Dooly County, was nominated by Ray Thompson. The Advanced ELP winner was Maria Elsa Croft of Houston County, who was nominated by Victoria Coulter. The GED graduate winner was Victor Talamentes of Houston County, nominated by Wilma Dixon. r jgfe' Test IV Interpreting Literature & the Arts 65 minutes Test V Mathematics 90 minutes • The minimum passing score per sec tion is 40 with a total score of 225. • Test scores are computed in Atlanta. Once you have passed the entire GED test, the state will mail your test results, your GED certificate, and a SSOO voucher to be used to further your education. • Free GED preparation classes are held in Dooly, Houston. Peach and Pulaski counties. Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon. Night classes are also available in all four counties. Students under the age of 18 must have a Formal Withdrawal form from the last school attended prior to enrolling in GED prepa ration classes.
