Nail Technician
Beginning Winter Quarter 2000, Middle Georgia Technical Institute will offer
the Nail Technician Certificate of Credit Program. The program will take two
quarters to complete and includes the following courses:

MGT students can benefit from GA program
Although Georgia’s HOPE
(Helping Outstanding Pupils
Educationally) program has
been in existence for more than six
years, many residents are still not
aware of the exceptional educational
opportunities provided by this unique
program. The Georgia HOPE Program
is one of the most innovative educa
tional initiatives in the country. It pro
vides significant financial aid assis
tance for Georgia students who pursue
education beyond the high school
level.
Students seeking a degree at a
Georgia college or university must
meet the qualifications for the HOPE
Scholarship. To qualify, they must be a
legal resident of Georgia, earn a “B”
average in high school and maintain it
while in college.
The HOPE Grant provides assis
tance to students enrolled in a diploma
or certificate program at one of
Georgia’s technical institutes, such as
Middle Georgia Technical Institute. To
qualify for the HOPE Grant, applicants
must be a legal resident or active duty
military stationed in Georgia and their

After 10 weeks of classroom and intensive hands-on training in modern up
to-date equipment, Middle Georgia Tech graduated seven students from the
school’s first Commercial Truck Driving Course. All seven obtained their
Commercial Driver’s License and four of the seven were pre-hired by local

MGT offers associate degree courses
Through a cooperative agreement
between Middle Georgia Technical Institute
and Middle Georgia College in Cochran,
students may earn an Associate of Applied
Science degree in Business, Health,
Services or Technology. To earn one of the
joint degrees, a student must complete a
diploma program of his or her choice at
Middle Georgia Tech and 20 semester hours
from Middle Georgia College.
Each semester. Middle Georgia College
offers one or more of the required courses
on Middle Georgia Tech’s campus. Two
courses will be offered by MGC during their
upcoming semester which begins in
