Youth Leadership Class gets tour of Robins, industry By Torey Jolley Leadership Houston Coun ty class members have been on a whirlwind tour of local industry and the Robins Air Force Base this fall. According to Chris Kin nas. President of the Perry Chamber of Commerce, on Oct. 27, the Youth Leader ship visited Robins Air Force Base under the guid ance of John Geiger. The trip included visits to the F-15, C-5, and the TI Directorates. The class also climbed inside a Joint STARS aircraft and a B-1B Bomber. After the tour, the mem bers had lunch at the Offi cers Club and continued on to the Museum of Avia tion where they learned about the heritage of the United States Air Force. The Youth Leadership class joined Tim Martin of the Houston County Devel opment Authority for Industry Day on Nov. 3. The class visited Riverwood International, Northrop Grumman, Frito-Lay, and Anchor Glass. During the lunch, which was sponsored by Northrop Grumman, Martin talked about ‘Team Houston" and the economic development efforts in Houston County. The Youth Leadership class will visit with city and county governments on Dec. 8, and travel to the state capitol to watch gov ernment working first-hand on Jan. 12,” said Kinnas.
