Page 2A Wed ~ Dec. 29, 1999, Houuon Home Journal Georgia to issue wildflower tags Jan. 1 DOT partners with Garden Clubs to design auto tag for wildflowers Special to the Home Journal DOT Commissioner Wayne Shackelford said wildflower tags will be available statewide beginning Jan. 1, 2000 at all local county tag offices. Due to support from the public, the Department of Transportation, in partner ship with The Garden Club of Georgia Inc., has created the wildflower tag. Legislation authorizing the fund for the tag was passed by the 1998 General Assembly under a bill intro duced by Rep. Garland Pin holster of Ball Ground. "We want to continue to ensure that Georgians enjoy a quality of life that is sec ond to no other state in the nation," said Shackelford. “That is why we are so excit ed about having these tags available to all Georgians." Motorists may obtain the wildflower tag for a one-time $25 manufacturing fee and an annual $25 specialty tag fee. Applicants who have pre registered will need to sub mit only the $25 specialty tag fee.
