Georgia Horse Council, Jan. 15.16. 2000 Page 6 A warm welcome to Perry - the Crossroads of Georgia Perry is the county seat of historic Houston County, which is one of the fastest-growing coun ties in Georgia. It's known as "The Crossroads of geor gia" because two major U.S. highways, U.S. 41 an U.S. 341 pass through the city. While those two high ways seem like quiet city streets in downtown Perry today, they brought Perry into the mainstream of tourism years ago, and the city is still holding its place as a center of hospitality for travelers. A classic Southern small town, with beautiful homes along shaded streets, a charming down town shopping area, and the nationally-known New Perry Hotel, Perry also offers a wide choice of motels, hotels, restaurants and shopping opportuni ties - including a new Super Wal-Mart on Sam Nunn Blvd. Perry is proud to be the home' of the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter, which is now in its second decade. A year-round magnet for conferences, shows and exhibits of all kinds, the Georgia National Fairgrounds is also home to the annual Georgia National Fair, which attracts tens of thousands to Perrv each October.
