First United Methodist Church
of Americus. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas
Turner Neely of Leslie. The
groom is the son of Mr. & Mrs.
Wyckliffe Austin Knox of
Augusta.
The bride is the granddaugh
ter of Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Rogers,
Sr. of Thomaston and Mrs. John
James Neely formerly of Warm
Springs and the late Mr. Neely
of Woodbury.
The groom is the grandson of
Mrs. Lamertine Griffin
Hardeman, Jr. and the late Mr.
Hardeman formerly of
Commerce, and Mrs. Denver
Wallace Swanson and the late
Mr. Wyckliffe Austin Knox, Sr,
formerly of Thomson.

Plantation. The music was pro
vided by the Celebrations. Mr.
Garland Byrd and Miss
Jacqueline Byrd performed a
duet for the first dance.
After a wedding trip to Big
Sur and Napa Valley, California,
Mr. & Mrs. Knox are living in
Atlanta, Georgia.

Hooten celebrated their 50th
wedding anniversary on Dec.
21, with their daughters and
their families. They were mar
ried on Dec. 21, 1952 at the
First Methodist Church of
Florala, Ala.
Raymond Hooten is retired
from Robins Air Force Base
after 26 years, and his wife, the
former Marilyn Parrish, is a
