Rebhs' Maintenance Directorate sends packages to solders By Luci Joullian Staff Writer Civilian workers in WRALC/MA are doing their best to make sure that military personnel stationed in Afghanistan feel a little closer to home this holiday season, and throughout the year. Last year, Kathy Wilner of the Base’s Maintenance Directorate began sending care packages to her son-in-law, currently stationed in Afghanistan. Her son-in-law began sharing these packages with other soldiers in his unit and Wilner realized that the need for these packages extended beyond what she alone could provide. Members of the 19th ARG will volunteer their time to hand out gifts to children. Wilner spread the word to other workers in her office and they have all pitched in to send packages to Afghanistan every month. Wilner hopes to expand the care package program, though - receiv ing donations from base employees and Warner Robins residents. Allen Sampson of the Maintenance Directorate says they have a need for donated items like puzzles, games and books to entertain the soldiers; warm clothing; and packaged snack food items. Those interested in donating items to be sent to the soldiers can contact Kathy Wilner at 926-4239 for more information. DECEMBER 24,2002
