DECEMBER 24, 2002 Perry resident receives first White Coat during Mercer Pharmacy School ceremony First-year students of Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy were presented their first white coats during the School’s inaugural White Coat Ceremony on Aug. 20. The cere mony was designed to help instill in students a sense of profession alism, responsibility and com mitment that is expected of pharmacists. Among the 134 students tak W.R. Celebration was especially joyful this year because the VFW entry in the parade was selected as the “Best Original Miscellaneous” category winner. Early on, the VFW Events Committee had decided, in keeping with their community involvement, to add a twist to their party this year and all attendees brought in a gift for presentation to the Rainbow House in addition to gifts for a gift exchange for the member ship.
