BUIE. McMahan
BYRON - Bill E. McMahan, 74, died Tuesday, December 24,
2002. Services were at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2002 at
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation immediately fol
lowing. Private burial was at Andersonville National Cemetery.
Mr. McMahan, a thirty-five year resident of Middle Georgia, was
retired from the USAF and Bill’s Washer and Dryer Repair. He was
a member of Robins Ramblers Square Dance Club and an active
member of Byron Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen; two sons, Donald (Sue), David
(Alta); and four grandchildren, Becky, Megan, Donna, and Will
McMahan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Byron
Baptist Church Building Fund at 100 White Road, Byron, GA
31008.

Carol Morrow Prince White
PERRY - Carol Morrow Prince White, 58 died in Houston, Texas
on December 26, 2002. Mrs. White was a native of Troy, Ohio and
was the daughter of the late M.T. and Mary M. Morrow.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 31 at
the chapel of Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry with interment
in Perry Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Monday from 6 to 8
p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. White attended the Perry Schools and was a chef and a
truck driver. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Dunn of
Savannah and Melissa Bryant of North Carolina; two sons,
Thomas Tramel of Houston, Texas, David Tramel and Travis
Tramel, both of North Carolina; a sister, Judy (Horace) Flournoy
of Perry; brothers, Richard (Kaye) Morrow of Fort Wayne, Indiana,
Raymond (Joyce) Morrow of Elizabeth City, No. Carolina and Jerry
(Willorene) Morrow of Lawrenceville.
Her husband, James White and a daughter, Jessie White preced
ed her in death.

Denver £ Paul, Sr.
MACON - Denver E. Paul, Sr., 63, passed away Saturday,
December 28,2002. Services will be at 4EM. Tuesday in the Chapel
of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Parkway
Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be
from 7:00 until 9:OOEM. Monday evening.
Mr. Paul was bom in Malden, MO to the late Clarence and Anna
Mae Robinson Paul. A sister, Mildred Patrick and brother, Cletus
Paul, also preceded him in death. Mr. Paul was retired from the
U.S. Air Force and Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base. While
serving two duties in Vietnam, Mr. Paul received many awards and
decorations including the Bronze Star. Mr. Paul was a member of
the Beaver Swamp Hunting Club in Jones County and attended
Faith Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Della Marie Paul of Macon; daughter,
Anna Marie (Jim) Ottinger of Macon; son, Denver E. Paul, Jr., of
Warner Robins; grandson, James Robert Ottinger of Camp
Lejuene, NC, Jessica Nicole Paul of Warner Robins and Jeremy Lee
Ottinger of Macon.

Hilda Laverne Ryan
WARNER ROBINS - Hilda Laverne Ryan, 80, of Warner
Robins died Saturday, December 21, 2002. Funeral services were
held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2002 in the chapel of
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Magnolia
Park Cemetery. Rev. David Miller will officiate.
Mrs. Ryan, a native of Vidalia, was the daughter of the late
Dewitt and Lillian Wooten Griffin. Her daughter Jan Ryan preced
ed her in death. -Survivors include her husband, William Thomas
Ryan Sr. of Warner Robins; sons: Sam Ryan of Ocklawaha, FL,
William Thomas Ryan Jr. and Mike Ryan, both of Warner Robins;
nephew, Dean Bloom of Lawrenceville; eight grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
The family received friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday
at the funeral home.

Juanita T. Kiser
WARNER ROBINS - Mrs. Juanita T. Kiser, 78, of 144 Little
John Lane died Sunday, December 22, 2002. Funeral services were
11 a.m. Tuesday at Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Rev. Andy Cook
and Dr. Napp Grenade officiated. Burial followed at Magnolia Park
Cemetery. The family received friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday
at the funeral home and may be contacted at the residence. The
family will receive flowers or memorial contributions may be made
to Hospice of Houston County, 2066 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins,
GA 31093.
Mrs. Kiser, a native of High Shoals, GA, was the daughter of the
late Emmit M. and Evie Brooks Tarpley and the mother of the late
Richard T. Kiser. She retired after 30 years with the Houston
County Board of Education where she served as an administrative
secretary at Warner Robins High School. She was a member of
Shirley Hills Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur J. Kiser, Warner Robins;
her adopted daughter, Pennie (Larry) Crutchfield, Warner Robins;
granddaughters, Deena Quinn and Cassy Crutchfield, both of
Warner Robins; brothers: Lamar Tarpley, Albany, Jack Tarpley,
Dalton, Robert Tarpley, North Charleston, SC and Harry Tarpley,
Hendersonville, TN sister; Rebecca Tarpley, Stone Mountain and a
host of nieces and nephews.

Mary T. Rice
WARNER ROBINS - Maiy T. Rice, 85, died Tuesday, December
24, 2002. Services were at 11 a.m., Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church with burial at Parkway Memorial Gardens.
A rosary was said at 6 p.m. Thursday evening at Heritage memo
rial Funeral home with visitation following until 8 p.m.
Mrs. Rice was born in Ottawa, IL. She was a member of the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a retired Registered Nurse.
Survivors include her husband, A. W. (Bill) Rice of Warner
Robins; two daughters: Willene Johnson of Bonaire and Teresa
Davis of Louisville, KY; son, Butch Rice of Warner Robins; brother,
Steven Prosen of Gatinburg, TN; nine grandchildren and one
great-grandson.
Contributions may be made to the Victoria’s Garden at 1010-A
South Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088 in memory
of Mrs. Rice.

Mildred Vlula Robertson
HAYNEVILLE - Mildred Vlula Robertson, 93, died Tuesday,
December 24, 2002 at Taylor Regional Hospital. Funeral Services
will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2002 at the First Baptist
Church of Hayneville with Rev. David Fisher officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be
from 7 - 8:30 PM, Thursday, December 26, 2002 at Watson-Hunt
Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roberson was a native of Evergreen Alabama, the daughter
of the late Samuel Stephen Gerald Jr and Lillie Lee (Ridgeway)
Gerald. She was a homemaker, the widow of Edward Marvin
Roberson and was preceded in death by four brothers. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church of Hayneville.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mary R. Weekley of Hawkinsville;
sisters, Candace Ward and Louise McDavid, both of Fairhope AL;
grandchildren, Candace (Shannon) Spradley and Paula (Ricky)
Speir, all of Hawkinsville; Lester (Sally)Weekley and Francis
Weekley, all of Hayneville; and Diane (Bruce) Capehart of Warner
Robins; great-grandchildren, Patrick Cleveland, Jesse and Joel
Weekley, Leslie and Thomas Capehart, Allen Morrow and Andy
Holland; great-great grandchildren, Victoria Cleveland and
Mikayla Welborn.

Nan A. Musselwhite
WARNER ROBINS - Nan A. Musselwhite, 68, of Warner
Robins, died Sunday, December 29, 2002. Funeral services will be
held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at First Baptist Church
of Warner Robins. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Rev. Hubert Whitten and Rev. Jerry Walls will officiate. -Mrs.
Musselwhite, a native of Arabi, GA, was the daughter of the late
Euel and Luel Stripling Acree. Her husband, Joe D. Musselwhite,
Sr. and two grandchildren, Bert Dalton and Canon Norris preced
ed her in death. She was a member of First Baptist Church where
she taught in the preschool department for many years. She
retired as the Director of Macon State’s College’s Warner Robins
Campus and served for several years on the Board of Directors for
Hospice of Houston County.
Survivors include her children, Joe D. (Kyra) Musselwhite, Jr.,
Teri (Curtis) Dalton, Lisa (Greg) Norris, all of Warner Robins and
Cathy (Earl) Liberty of Valdosta; grandchildren, AE2 Joe D.
Musselwhite, 111 of the US Navy, Mark Musselwhite, Tyler
Musselwhite, Eric Dalton, Cody Norris, all of Warner Robins and
Abigail Liberty of Valdosta.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:OOEM. Monday
at the funeral home.

RobertD. Rainey
PERRY - Robert D. Rainey, 82, died Tuesday December 24, 2002
in his home after battling with cancer. Graveside Services will be
held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 27, 2002 at Perry Memorial
Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 PM, Thursday, December
26, 2002 at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.
Mr. Rainey was a native of Turner County, the son of the late
Benjamin Franklin Rainey and Selma (Cleghorn) Rainey. He ‘
retired from Civil Service in 1980 with 39 years of service and later
worked for Ace Hardware in Perry for 10 years. He was a member
of Perry United Methodist Church and the Howell Cobb Sunday
School Class. Sons, Robert Franklin Rainey (1980) and Daniel
Crawford Rainey (1986) preceded Mr. Rainey in death. Sisters,
Mae Ashley and Ruby Ware and brothers, John and Harry Rainey
also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bernice Spell Rainey; chil
dren, Mary Ann Hill and her husband, Hugh of Perry, Michael Roy
Rainey and his wife, Dora of Lawrenceville, and William Wren
Rainey and his wife, Paige Dawson Rainey of Hawkinsville; sisters,
Norma Austin and Verlon McHugh; a brother, David Charles
Rainey, all of Ashburn; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren
and many nieces and rtephews.

SSgt Westley Hodge Mcßroy, USAF (Ret)
WARNER ROBINS - SSgt Westley Hodge McElroy passed away
Wednesday, December 25, 2002 at Houston Medical Center.
Services was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 28 in the
Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Visitation was be held on
Saturday beginning one hour prior to the service at the funeral
home. Interment was in Lay Cemetery in Miflin, Alabama.
Born in Eros, Louisiana, SSgt McElroy was retired from the
United States Air Force and was a veteran of World War 11, the
Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired from Civil
Service at Robins Air Force Base after 32 years of service. His wife,
Velma McElroy, and parents, Andrew D. and Maude E. McElroy,
preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Westley Mac Elroy, Jacksonville, FL;
daughter, Karen McElroy, Warner Robins; son, Mark McElroy,
Warner Robins; brother, Elton McElroy, Cocoa Beach, FL; and two
grandchildren.

WARNER ROBINS - Sylvia E. Wolfe, 69, passed away
Saturday, December 28, 2002. Services will be at 2EM. Tuesday in

Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7:00 until
9:OOEM. Monday evening.
Mrs. Wolfe was bom in Davenport, VA to the late Robert and
Susie Rasnake Street. Her sister, Leah Presley, brothers, Tivis
(Doc) Gibson, Jimmy Street, Robert B. Street, Franklin D. Street
and Richard Street also preceded her in death. Mrs. Wolfe was a
member of the First Baptist Church of Bonaire and a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Ezra Wolfe of
Warner Robins; daughter: Renee Johnson of Centerville; sons, Jeff
T. Wolfe of Byron, Ronald L. Wolfe of Bonaire and Verle (Reba A.)
Wolfe of Centerville; grandchildren, Eric (Parish) Gainous of
Warner Robins, Justin Wolfe of Centerville, Jacob Wolfe, Jessica
Wolfe and Ashley Wolfe, all of Bonaire; great-granddaughter, Jalah
Gainous of Warner Robins; sisters, Gay Johnson of Abingdon, VA,
Kathleen Shoemaker of Nickelsville, VA and Irene Hall of New
Port, Richey, FL; brothers, Tommy Street of Bee, VA and Joe
Street of Lenoir, NC; special sister-in-law: Mary H. Bond of
