OBITUARIES
HAZEL CANTRELL BALLEW
FORT VALLEY -Hazel C. Ballew, 75, passed away on Wednesday,
July 23, 2003. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, in the
Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, with interment following in
Perry Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 6 until 8 p.m.
Thursday at McCullough Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted
or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO.
Box 1544, Warner Robins, GA 31099, or to Hospice of Central Ga.,
PO. Box 6533 Mapon, GA 31208.
Ballew was born in Lafayette. She was the widow of John Oscar
Ballew Jr., and had been a homemaker. Her parents, John and
Jessie Cantrell, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Jay Ballew of Fort Valley; daughter,
Catherine Spires of Eatonton; brother-in-law, Robert Murphy
Ballew of Bonaire; four grandchildren and many great-grandchil
dren.

KENNETH “KEN” GOLDEN
BYRON - Kenneth “Ken” Golden, 32, passed away Wednesday,
July 23, 2003, in the Emory University Hospital. Services will be
at 2 p.m. Saturday (TODAY) at Westside Baptist Church, with bur
ial in the Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 7 until
9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Golden was born in Warner Robins. He was a member of the
Westside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Nell C. Mull of Byron; father and
stepmother, Derry and Barbara Golden of Mobile, Ala.; sister,
Angie Deal of Powersville; brother and sister-in-law, Robbie and
Laura Golden of Frisco, Texas; nieces, Megan and Heather Deal of
Powersville and Danielle Golden of Frisco, Texas; nephew, Little
Robbie Golden of Frisco, Texas; several aunts and uncles.
Those who wish may make a donation to the donor’s choice in
memory of Ken Golden.
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

toddlers are invited to sing
action songs and listen to stories
read by Mrs. Allison and Mrs.
Sue. Light snacks and a small
