In most cases, Houston students tested better than Houston OB units to be consolidated Local Hospice asks for space; Houston Healthcare weighing options By Jon Suggs HHJ Staff Writer PERRY - Citing declining birth numbers at its Perry Hospital, obstetrics ward, the Hospital Authority of Houston County announced plans Monday to close the ward and consolidate servic www.hhjnews.com According to Warner Robins Police Capt. Brett Evans, the man is in his 20s. He was shot outside a residence on North Fifth Street about 9:25 p.m. Evans said the initial call went out last year. The latest round of stan dardized testing scores was released this week by the Georgia Department of Education. Fourth-, sixth- and eighth grade students were tested last spring. This is the fourth year that the CRCT has been given. Each student is given a grade of “does not meet standard,” “meets stan es at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. Through the first six months of the current fiscal year, 66 births have been recorded, compared to 127 through the same point last year, according to Houston Healthcare Complex utiliza tion reports. Meanwhile, to police as “shots fired in the area.” When police arrived on the scene, they found the man on the ground. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Evans said. Tuesday morning, police were working to confirm the young man’s identity and an autopsy was under way by Dr. James Whitaker. Sonny Perdue and First Lady Mary Perdue. The governor noted that while MGTC relies largely on the state for its budget, “state funding ain’t what it used to be.” For this— reason, the MGTC Foundation hopes to raise more than it did last year - SIOO,OOO, said Mike Long, chairman of the Foundation Board of Trustees. “The school’s impact has an ability to recruit industry to Houston County,” he said. “There has been a decrease in revenue especially, with a trickle-down effect from 9- 11.
