Confucius:
Chinese food
opens mind
If you’ve ever read my
column before, you
know that from time
to time I like to pose philo
sophical questions both to
spark thought and because I
run out of ideas.
I was lounging on my
newly revamped futon (new
cushion) Sunday, watching
the Falcons toy with win
ning a game when I decided
to order Chinese food.
First off, there are many
reasons why I chose
Chinese food out of the end
less possibilities available in
a growing Houston County.
However, the main reason is
that someone taped a menu
to my door when I got home
from work Sunday morning.
It’s all about convenience ...
they delivered too.
After a LONG hour wait
for my food (convenience ...
HA!) I devoured my broccoli
chicken (mom would be
proud) and searched quickly
for the second reason I
ordered Chinese food the
fortune cookie.
What makes the fortune
cookie so great is not the
taste, because it tastes like
stale cardboard. I love the
idea because what other
dessert can provide witty,
pithy or life-affirming com
mentary? The answer is
none, my friends.
As I cracked open the
