keeping his campaign prom
ises of cleaning the city and
promoting city development

“I’d like to thank the vot
ers,” Brand said adamantly.
“I don’t care how people
voted. It’s what you do after
that counts.”
Windham said he would
continue to attend council
meetings and continue ask
ing for safer walkways near
streets and new industry to
the city.
“This is my first time in
politics and it was against a
man with 14 years experi
ence on council,” Windham
said. “It was a fair and clean

vehicles and race down the
200-foot-long simulated
runway in the Museum of
Aviation picnic area.
Registration beings at 9:30
a.m. at the main gate. The
cost is $5. Each child will get
a prize and there will be a
parade through the parking
lot following the races.

said while he has had con
cerns about traffic and den
sity, he believes those con
cerns can be addressed.
Walker voted for the
rezoning request, along with
commissioners Tom
McMichael and Larry
Thomson.
Chairman Ned Sanders
said he think the commis
sioners made the right deci
sion.
This is not the first time
the matter has been brought
before commissioners for a
vote.
In August, the matter
failed to get approval when a
motion failed for lack of a
second.
Later that month, it was
decided to send the request
back to Planning and
Zoning for another look.
P&Z officials recommend
ed approving the request.

The Wings and Wheels
Poker Fun Run will be held
Friday night. Registration
will be held form 6:15 to 7
p.m. at Hanger One. For an
$8 entry fee, contestants
have a chance to win door
prizes and attempt to accu
mulate the best poker hand
for top prizes of $75, SSO
and $25.
Contestants will drive to
local merchants for cards
and promotional gifts. The
event will end in a parking
lot party at Hooters and
Steak N’ Shake, with oldies
disc jockey Tommy
Landrum providing the
music.
Landrum will also provide
entertainment at the show
Saturday, along with the
Sassy Rhythm Cloggers
from Eastman.
Other displays will include
model and radio-controlled
aircraft.
Proceeds support Museum
of Aviation education and
development programs.
The show is sponsored by
Warner Robins Ford Lincoln
Mercury.

son, Braylon, who suffers from cerebral palsy. Bray lon’s family has been working to
raise money for trips to a special clinic in Poland for therapy. Over SI,OOO was raised.
The Sunday car show was a great success and Randy says thanks to everyone who
participated.
