who took advantage of this
opportunity had a great
time.
On Sept. 21 the Bears in
Den 2 were given a rocket
demonstration by David

reads to regularly.
Moody, a member of Ms.
Cravitt’s gifted class for
first-, second- and third

Elementary School,
made the replica doll as
a “magic friend” a la
Pascal’s red balloon in
the Albert Lamorisse
children’s book, “The
Red Balloon. ” Wilson,
Moody wrote in an
accompanying paper, is
her magic friend
because, “He is very
good and nice. He likes
books a lot just like I do!”
RIGHT: The doll is
dressed like Wilson,
including his signature
hat. The doll carries a
book (of course) and an
apple. “He reads funny
books and good books
but I like all of them,”
Moody wrote. “It is very
nice of him to bring shiny
red apples to the teach
ers.”
