the nonprofit Committee for
the Study of the American
Electorate in Washington,
said his group has found no
evidence that early voting
increases voter turnout.
“The problem is motiva
tion,” Gans said. “These
things do nothing to
enhance motivation. We’re
much better off focusing on
election day.”
Absentee balloting
remains an option in this
Georgia election through
next Monday, March 1. On
that day, the law allows
absentee voting but no early
voting.
