Chambliss appointed to task force on aerospace defense

Penn., chairman of the
Senate Republican
Conference, has appointed
U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss,
R-Moultrie, as the Senate’s
leader on the “Industry
Sector Task Force on
Aerospace and Defense.”
The joint Senate-House task
force, led by Chambliss and

WADE MCCOY
PERRY - Wade McCoy, 66, of Perry, died >
Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004. Funeral services will
be held at 2 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) in the
Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. ——cSsl
Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial
Gardens. The Rev. Keith Ivey will officiate.
McCoy, a native of Laurens County, was the son of the late
Robbie and Martha DuPree McCoy. He was retired from
Robins Air Force Base and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was
also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge
#I6BB, the Tyrian Lodge #lll and the Scottish Rite.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Davis McCoy of Perry;
daughter, Julia (Steve) Lemley of Perry; siblings, Frank
(Mary) McCoy, Tommy (Jean) McCoy, Betty (David) Gales,
all of Macon; grandchildren, Ron (Angie) Moody, Shannon
Lemley and Rusty Lemley; great-grandchildren, Taylor
Moody and Nicholas Moody.
The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at
the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American
Heart Association, P O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-
9410.
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrange
ments.
LEE WILLIAMS
GROVANIA - Lee Williams, 44, of Grovania, died
Monday, Feb. 23, in Gulfport, Miss. Graveside services will
be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 (TODAY) at Harmony-
Smyma Cemetery near Unadilla.
Born in Hawkinsville, he was the son of the late Willie
Leon Williams, and was a truck driver for Frito-Lay.
Williams was devoted to his wife and children, a member of
Memorial Heights Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting.
Burvivors include wife, Lynda Ann Williams of Grovania;
daughters, Kimberly Leann Williams of Grovania and
Jennifer Lynn Williams of Grovania; mother, Judith M.
Williams of Elko; and brother, Samuel Williams of Elko.
The family greeted friends at the funeral home from 6:30
until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial
Heights Baptist Church, PO. Box 1663, Perry, GA 31069.

Children’s Theatre will host a
rummage sale beginning at 8

ning at. 10 a.m. The rummage
sale will include toys to trin
kets, kitchenware to outerwear,
clothes to computers. Proceeds
will support the production of
“The Somewhat True Tale of
Robin Hood,” slated for per
formance in April, and to help
increase the building fund. For

this opportunity to donate
clothing and furniture items to

• The Middle Georgia
Camellia Society will host a
camellia show with certified
judges at Colonial Mall Macon
from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and
Sunday. The event is open to
the public and camellia growers
are invited to compete. Single
camellia blooms may be entered

aircraft, missile defense and
smart bombs, the aerospace
industry is a key to national
security,” Chambliss said.
“As a co-founder of the
Congressional Airpower
Caucus, I am keenly aware
