CPR class from 6 p.m. until 10
p.m. at the Red Cross Training

will perform its annual
Percussion Ensemble Concert

OBITUARIES
CECIL L. GILLISPIE
WARNER ROBINS - Cecil L. CHlSpie, 73,
passed away on Saturday, April 3, in the
Augusta VA Medical Center. Graveside services
will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, at Glen
Haven Memorial Gardens.

Gillispie was bom in Martinsville, Va. He had lived in
Germany, where he retired from the U.S. Army. He served
in the U.S. Army for approximately 22 years. He was in
World War 11, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He had
lived in Germany for 40 years. He had recently purchased a
home in Warner Robins, where he could be closer to his chil
dren. His wife, Virginia L. Gillispie and parents, Ben and
Addie Gillispie, preceded him in death.
He was survived by his son, Cecil (Pete) L. Gillispie Jr.,
and spouse, Cindy Gillispie; daughter; Debbie L. Hinson,
and spouse, James Hinson; his sons, Jerry S. Gillispie and
Thomas R. Gillispie of Warner Robins. He had five children,
ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, who always
made him smile, Dillon Gillispie. He has two brothers, Joe
Gillispie and Gene Gillispie, both living in Virginia; and one
sister, Ann Hand of Columbus.

MINNIE E. RUSH
WARNER ROBINS - Minnie E. Rush, 92, passed away on
Saturday, April 3, 2004, at Peachbelt Nursing Center.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 5, at Magnolia
Park Cemetery with interment following.
Rush was born in Alabama City, Ala. She was a member
of the Senior Citizens Club. Her husband, Thomas Cassidy
Rush, preceded her in death.

NANCY ELIZABETH WALTHERS
WARNER ROBINS - Nancy Elizabeth Walthers, 88,
passed away Friday, April 2, 2004. Services were at 11 a.m.
Monday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home,
with burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation was from
7 until 9 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Walthers was born in Corinth, Miss., to the late Troy and
Ada Ethridge Lain. She was a member of the Covenant
Presbyterian Church, the Civilian Wives Club and a mem
ber of the Beta Sigma Phi. She was a devoted wife, mother,
grandmother and great grandmother.
Walthers is survived by her husband, Leo Walthers; a
daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gary Fransioli; two
grandsons, Tony Fransioli, Dusty (Kim) Fransioli; great
grandson, Dylan Fransioli all of Warner Robins.
The family may be contacted at 206 Sylvia Place.

Lee Jones of Perry (left) is congratulated by Gary

winning the “No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em” poker tourna
ment, held monthly at Wagers. This is the game made
very popular lately on cable TV. Jones participated in his
first poker tournament at Wagers in January, and placed
fifth out of 144 participants. This month, Jones won first
place out of 288 people participating in the local tourna-
ment.
