• The first annual Easter
Parade will begin at 10 a.m. in
the parking lot of Save-A-Lot
on North Houston Road and
end at Peavy Park on Johnson
Road. The parade will bring
the Easter Bunny to the sev
enth annual Easter In The
Park - a celebration of “Child
Safety Month in Houston
County" from 10 a.m. until 1:30
p.m. Children can enjoy games,
prizes, face painting, moonwalk
and more! There will be a
Diaper Derby for crawling
babies and age-grouped egg
hunts for toddlers through 10-
year-olds. Information will be
available on community
resources for assisting and
maintaining the safety and
well-being of children and their
families.

Environmental Management
group will sponsor Bird
Watching with Dr. Bob, as part
of a series of Earth Day events.
Participants will visit a young
longleaf pine forest, hardwood
forests, fields, ponds, and wet
land habitats, and can expect to
see a variety of neotropical
migrants including warblers
and flycatchers, woodpeckers
(red-heads, as well as herons
and egrets. Those who have
base access privileges are asked
to meet at Luna Lake at 8 a.m.
Others must pre-register no
later than Monday, April 12,
then meet at the base Visitor’s
Center, near the Main Gate, at

Jazz band to put
on USO-style show
WARNER ROBINS -
Northside High School’s
jazz band will take a trip
back in time when it hosts a
1940 s USO-style big band
concert and dance called “A
Time Gone By” from 7 to 10
p.m Saturday, April 17, at
VFW Post #6605, 1101
Corder Road.
This is the first year that
the event, sponsored by the
Northside High School Band
Parents Association, has
taken place.
“We just wanted to do a
fundraiser that would get
the jazz band’s name out in
the community,” said Terry
Harper, co-president of the
Band Parents Association.
Harper said the jazz band,
which is made up of about
15 students playing trum

years old and plays
