IRENE ROBERTS BROWN
JEFFERSONVILLE - Funeral services for Irene Roberts
Brown of Jeffersonville were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4,
2005, in the Faulk Chapel Baptist Church in Twiggs County.
Burial was in the Church Cemetery.
Brown, 80, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, in the Houston
Medical Center in Warner Robins. A native of Twiggs
County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Cornelia
Hill Roberts. She attended Twiggs County Schools, and was
a member of the Faulk Chapel Baptist Church where she
served as Mother of the Church, Past President of the
Mission, Usher, Reporter and Kitchen Ministry. She was
retired from the Twiggs County Board of Education as a
lunchroom manager after 29 years of service. She was the
widow of the late Marvin Brown Sr.
Survivors include her children, Susie Brown and James
(Linda) Brown of Jeffersonville, Vivian (Kenneth) Jackson
of Warner Robins, Marvin (Jean) Brown of Columbia,
Tenn., and Carl (Angela) Brown of Macon; a brother, Lewis
Roberts, and a sister, Mozell Roberts, both of Philadelphia,
Pa.; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sis
ters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of other rela
tives.
Alvie Coes Funeral Home, Unadilla, had charge of
arrangements.
ROSEANNA LEAH DINGLER
CENTERVILLE - Roseanna Leah Dingier, 44, passed
away on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005. Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11 (TODAY), at the Chapel of
McCullough Funeral Home, with interment following in
Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation was 6 until 8 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 10, at McCullough Funeral Home.
Dingier was born Aug. 25, 1960, in Anchorage, Alaska, to
Emma Starkey and the late Bobby L. Starkey Sr. Also pre
ceding her in death was brother, Daniel Starkey.
Survivors include, husband of 25 years, Randy Dingier of
Centerville; mother, Emma Starkey of Warner Robins;
daughter, Jennifer Dingier Abbott of Centerville; daughter,
Karen Leanna Dingier of Centerville; sister, Emily Schiver
of Colorado; brother, Bobby L. Starkey Jr. of Crawford
County; and sister, Christina Robbins of Centerville.

JUSTIN W. HARRIS
KATHLEEN - Justin
W. Harris, 34, passed
away Tuesday, Jan. 4,
2005. Graveside services
were at 3 p.m. Sunday in
the Bonaire Cemetery, with visitation
from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at the
funeral home.
Harris was a native of Raleigh, N.C.
He was a student at Middle Georgia
Technical College, taking electronics
and computer repair. Harris was a vet-
eran of the U.S. Army and of the National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Deidre Leanne Harris; and a
son, Zale Justin Harris, both of Kathleen; father and moth
er-in-law; and the whole Keith family.
Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.

BETTY LORD
BONAIRE - Betty Lord, 68, died at her residence on
Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005. The family greeted friends at
Watson-Hunt Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10,
2005. Lord had lived in Houston County since 1982 when
she moved from Ohio. She also maintained a residence in
Wyoming. Betty was active in the Moose Lodge of Warner
Robins, Tuesday AM Women’s Bowling League, and was a
homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Hamilton W. Lord Jr. of
Bonaire; children, Jim E. Karchella of Perry, Keith A.
Karchella of Mansfield, Ohio, Cheryl L. Weaver of Westville
Center, Ohio, Kim A Rice of Sarasota, Fla., Shirley L. Patel
of Bonaire, Reynir Lord and Palmi Lord, both of Lake Mays,
Fla.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

OTTIE JACK MORRISON
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Ottie Jack
Morrison, 79, passed away Saturday, Jan. 8,
2005. Memorial services will be at 9 a.m.
Tuesday (TODAY) in the chapel of Heritage
Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation fol-
lowing the service. Burial will be private.
Morrison was a native of Rileyville, Va. He was a retired
veteran from the U.S. Army and served in the World War II
conflict. Morrison was also retired from Lockheed Aircraft
Corp. as a systems manager on the C-130 aircraft in Saudi
Arabia for 25 years.
Survivors include his son, Jeff (Doreen) Morrison of
Warner Robins; grandsons, Jason B. Morrison and Jason A.
Forbes, both of Warner Robins, and Joshua B. Forbes of
Mannheim, Germany; five great-grandchildren; sister,
Phyllis (Cecil) Townsend of Vienna, Va.
Heritage Memorial Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
REV I. F. “RASTUS” SALTER
WARNER ROBINS - The Rev. Rastus Salter,
80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior
Friday, Jan. 7, 2005. The Rev. Salter lay in
state at Second Baptist Church from noon
until 9 p.m. Saturday and from 1 until 3 p.m.
Sunday. The family received friends at Second Baptist
Church, from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday. Services were held at
3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, in Second Baptist Church, with
a private interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to
the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 2504 Moody
Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088, or Hospice of Houston
County, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
The Rev. Salter was born in Upson County. After gradua
tion from Zebulon High School in Zebulon, he entered the
U.S. Army during World War 11. He graduated from Mercer
University in Macon in 1951, and then attended
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth,
Texas. When he was pastor of Hendricks Baptist Church in
Thomaston, he conducted revival services at Second Baptist
Church. He was called to Second Baptist as associate pastor
in November 1955, and became pastor in June 1956. During
his time at Second Baptist Church, there have been over
6,800 additions to the church with over 3,500 coming for
munications, use of force,
firearms, investigations and
crime scene processing. Get

baptism. He has preached in more than 325 revivals with
over 9,000 public decisions for Christ. The Rev. Salter has
served as chairman of the Executive Committee of the
Rehoboth Baptist Association and has preached at the
Georgia Baptist Evangelism Conference. He recently
preached the Missionary Sermon at the November 1999
Georgia Baptist Convention in Macon. In 1990, he was
elected Vice-President of the Georgia Baptist Convention.
He was honored at the Georgia Baptist Preaching
Conference in 1999 for having served 40 years at the same
church. He is married to the former Lena Peterman.
Together, they have reared seven children. His parents,
Isaac and Lonnie Salter, and son, Greg, preceded him in
death.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Peterman Salter of
Warner Robins; children, Glen Salter (Dryden) of Atlanta,
Gary Salter (Linda) of Alpharetta, Janet Condon of Warner
Robins, Jean Fuller (Robert) of Charlotte, N.C., Gill Salter
(Connie) of Cartersville, and Joy Brantley (Tim) of Bonaire;
sisters, Margie Sear jy of Monroe, and Iris Jimmerson (Joe)
of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchil
dren.

JOHNNY B. SPIVEY
DOOLING - Funeral services for Johnny B. “Charlie”
Spivey of Atlanta were held 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2005, in
the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Dooling. Burial was in the
church cemetery.
Spivey, 63, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at his residence. A
native of Dooly County, he was the son of the late Joe and
Lucy Brown Spivey. He was educated in Dooly County
Public Schools and worked as a machine operator.
Survivors include his wife, Georgie B. Spivey of Atlanta; a
daughter, Michelle B. Spivey of Atlanta; three stepchildren,
Sammie Bentley, Penny Wright and Tammy Harrison, all of
Atlanta; four sisters, Eugenia Smith of Miami, Fla.,
Beatrice Stewart of Atlanta, Bernice Clark of Dooling, and
Gladys (Wilbert) Hardrick of Byromville; one brother,
Sampson Spivey of Byromville; five grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; one aunt; six sisters-in-law; and other
relatives.

WILLIE L. “REDBUG” WRIGHT
UNADILLA - Willie L. “Redbug” Wright, 70, of Unadilla,
died Friday, Jan. 7, in a local hospital. Graveside services
were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, in Walnut Cemetery.
“Redbug” was born on Feb. 11, 1934, to Emmett Wright
and Susie Mason Wright. He was a carpenter and had
worked in the logging business.
Survivors include companion, Cora Kelton of Unadilla;
brother, Harris Wright of Kathleen; sisters, Agnes Davis of
Unadilla, and Lucy Pope of Unadilla.
The family greeted friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the
funeral home.
